Where Are You Going in 2024?

Hey There, Friends! I read somewhere on social media this week that we’re all only allowed to reference the cold once this week. ha! So, here’s my shot…I hope you guys are staying warm wherever you are!

Tab got the Texans/Browns Wild Card game and at the last minute the big kids and I threw caution to the wind and decided to head to Houston to watch. Now that we have a puppy it wasn’t as easy to just hop out of town but we have an amazing sitter who stayed with Champ and Britt {who voted to stay home over going to the football game}. The game was crazy loud! That stadium was electric with energy! So much so that when I say my ear drums are craving silence! We got back yesterday afternoon and drove through some light snow and sleet which was very exciting for us Texans {I’ve officially lived in Texas just as long as I lived in Missouri so I’m going with it}.

If your house is anything like mine, the turn of the calendar often brings this question…“WHERE ARE WE GONNA GO THIS YEAR? WHAT ABOUT SPRING BREAK? SUMMER? FALL BREAK? ETC?”. And if you have teens or kids in club sports you’re often planning around their schedules, which makes it a little extra crazy.

On the drive back, Tab and I had that chat ourselves {again for the 100th time}. I think we have some plans I’m going to work on solidifying this week. In case your family is doing the same thing and working on exactly where you’ll be vacationing this year, I wanted to share some of our past favorites. Many of these destinations we can help you with at Mix and Match Travel Agency. Please reach out to us if you’re looking for assistance. We’d love to help you and have ZERO fees for clients!

Some of our past faves…

Disney Fall Break-We just did this in 2023. It was a quick trip during our short Fall Break but my kids of all ages had a BLAST! Disney doesn’t disappoint at any age!

********************

Oktoberfest in Munich-If this is on your bucket list, grab some friends and make it happen! One of my most favorite getaways! Oktoberfest in general reminded me a lot of the Texas State Fair but in the most adorable town! Seriously a FUN destination!

********************

Spring Break in Mexico-I’m not sure there’s an easier destination for us than Mexico at Spring Break. A quick flight and within hours we can be beach side. With baseball schedules it’s often hard for us to get away for a long time at Spring Break so Mexico is perfect for our family.

****************

Rosemary Beach/30A:

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Favorites from Rosemary with a Q & A

I know 30A is a favorite for so many and let me tell you…there’s a reason why! The beach is gorgeous, towns are absolutely adorable, and my family loves getting around all week on bikes.

**********

Spring Break in Park City-Skiing at spring break is typically a good idea because the weather is never COLD COLD when we’re skiing. If I’m already flailing my body down the mountain, at least don’t make me freeze while I’m doing it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

******************

Turks and Caicos-ABSOLUTELY STUNNING views! The water in Turks was absolutely gorgeous! It was on my bucket list and happened when I turned forty!

*****************

National Parks Trip

Part 1-Bear Lake

Part 2-Jackson Hole

Part 3-West Yellowstone

Part 4-Yellowstone

Part 5-Montana

Part 6-Glacier National Park

This trip was the perfect mix of education, views, and adventure. My family all has different faves from our stops. It was too difficult to choose just one.

**********

London in the Fall-Last year, Tab got a game in London so we made a little getaway out of it. London was absolutely stunning in the fall.

******************

Spring Break in the Dominican Republic-Another destination that’s convenient AND has amazing weather during the Spring Break months. We stayed at an amazing all-inclusive with great pools and a gorgeous beach.

****************

Alaskan Cruise

ย Part 1

Part 2

ย Part 3

Part 4

Our family loves a vacation where we can both adventure AND relax. Alaska was exactly that!

*******************

Part 1ย

Part 2

Part 3

One of my very favorite getaways with just Tab and I would be Iceland! If you’re contemplating Iceland, I’d one hundred percent recommend it.

*******************

Disney Cruise

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Part 4

Disney Cruises are my FAVORITE way to cruise! You can’t go wrong with the open seas and a Disney ship. ๐Ÿ™‚

What about YOUR family? Where are you guys headed in 2024? I hope this helps someone when making their travel plans! Happy planning, friends!

See you back here on Wednesday for our first Let’s Look of the year!

Do you have any tips for the national park trip? How far out did you book?

I started booking in December/January and was able to get everything we wanted. We didn’t stay inside the National Parks though. If you want to do that, you might need to book further out {at least those particular rooms}.

We have one trip planned and one in the works. Disney World in November. We always do a baseball game road trip in the summer. Thinking this year a game in Philadelphia and a visit to Hershey Park.

We will be going to Gulf Shores for softball nationals, but hoping we can also turn it into a family vacation of sorts. It’s the last summer before my oldest goes to college, so it will be nice to get away as a family. This isn’t 2024, but my husband & I are going to the DR next Jan with my group of friends. Can’t wait to get away with just adults!!!

As soon as January comes and I see a huge blank wall calendar (I get for work) and I just have to fill it haha. I just booked St. Lucia for family spring break and need to get in gear for Summer. I’m thinking Switzerland. Plus trips for kids travel sports sprinkled in throughout. For ideas sake, my family LOVED Aruba last spring break. We’ve loved national parks out west (Grand Titons, Glacier NP), Mediterranean Cruise out of Barcelona and The Azores (islands off Portugal) as fan favorites.

My husband and I want to do the National Park one that you have mentioned. Almost all of those. Did you fly and then rent a vehicle? Where did you fly into? I could use all the tips as I don’t even know where to start. We live in Houston. Thanks for any tips.
