This is the last part of my vacation recaps! WAAHHH!!! I’m sad to see them go. If you’ve missed any, Part One and Part Two can be read quickly. 🙂
On Wednesday morning, we woke up and headed to Shipwreck Island Water Park to meet my brother, sister-in-law, and nephews! They just happened to be vacationing with their family in Panama City the same week so we planned a meet up day weeks ago!
This water park was nice, shaded, and gave us all a little break from the beach.
I kept my phone in my swim bag the entire day, but right before we closed the place down I took this picture. We were seriously some of the very last people to leave. These six had FUN on those slides!
We made our way over to Sharky’s for a super casual dinner. There were volleyball courts, play grounds, and more to keep everyone entertained while you wait. This was a super busy spot that caters to all us tourists, but our food was GOOD and the company was even better. 🙂
My brother and his family live in Missouri and we just don’t see them enough so it was great to have them all to ourselves for a day!
Can you tell my four were big fans of meeting up with the cousins?
Slaughter six after being stuffed full of oysters, shrimp, fish, and more!
A baseball team from Austin, Texas, was waiting for their table and were so sweet to let our boys play with them.
Thursday, we hit the beach and Ebby Lee and her new friend found this…
STARFISH!
These two walked the beach asking anyone and everyone if they’d like to see a starfish.
I’m embarrassed to say we had Cowgirl Kitchen for lunch. #again And then we hit up The Sugar Shak!
You guys…this store is CUTE! And there’s always a line for the ice cream. #thatgood
Big smiles all around for ice cream! And don’t worry, Tab was holding Britt’s cup of ice cream for her. She had some too. 🙂
That afternoon these two dug a hole and spent a majority of their time hanging out in it.
Tab Slaughter prefers to soak every last minute of sunlight from the day before we leave the beach so on Thursday, we decided to skip the whole “getting ready” thing and head straight to dinner because we were HUNGRY! We ended up at SteamBoat Grill on 30A. Let me just say, the food was really good and totally worth it. It’s important to remember that part of the story. 🙂 There was a wait when we arrived which we totally expected. But as our time to get a seat drew closer the hostess came out to let us know they weren’t seating anyone anytime soon because the kitchen was so backed up. So we waited and waited. A table finally came open (after they began seating people again) but it happened to be a tall table and a high chair wouldn’t fit. So we waited some more. In the middle of the wait, a nasty storm rolled right past us. We stayed busy watching the storm and the end of the College World Series. After all the wait, they decided to just seat us on the patio (the table had been open the entire time we were there)…haha! Tab and I then ordered crab legs and when they brought our food, the waitress told us she couldn’t find any of the crab crackers to use for cracking them open. She was so nice about it, but also kind of like-good luck with this. She finally tracked some down and we enjoyed our meal. I’m telling you…it was good, casual food but just a series of oh-my-goodness-kind of moments. BUT…we were on vacation and in laid back mode so we didn’t even care. We just had to laugh!
My crew after our quick dinner turned into a three and a half hour affair!
Friday morning…I finished this Nancy Thayer, A Nantucket Wedding. It was a great, light chick-lit read and perfect for the beach.
We’d been promising our kiddos a beach souvenir all week so we started off the morning with a trip to Gigi’s, the CUTEST kids’ boutique. I completely forgot to snap a picture because I was probably scouring the racks. They have cute kids’ clothes, shoes, unique gifts, and much much more!
Then we happened upon this little set up…
decorating your own fedoras, tatoos, and karaoke!
Britt looks a little unsure. Doesn’t she? This event is put on by the merchants in Rosemary every Friday from 10 (or 11) to 1:00 p.m. The kiddos got to choose all their decorations and then some sweet ladies hot glued it all on for them.
I’m not sure who was more proud-Britt or Tab (he helped her select her decor). ha!
My favorite part was the butterfly and feathers!
Seriously, if you’re in Rosemary on a Friday-go check it out!
I never got a picture of us on our bikes, but it was one of my favorite things about Rosemary. I loved riding our bikes everywhere!
We soaked up every last bit of the sun before calling it a day, getting ready for dinner, and heading BACK to Old Florida Fish House because we all voted it our favorite!
Saturday, we were in the car all packed and headed home by 7:45 a.m. (with chipped nail polish-ha!)
I finished this book, The Wife Between Us somewhere between Mississippi and Louisiana. SO SO GOOD! I’m a big fan of those suspenseful thrillers and this one did not disappoint! It reminded me a lot of The Last Mrs. Parrish.
We were about three hours from home and we stopped for dinner in Louisiana. You guys THIS meal was delicious. Trust me, by the end of the week my swim suits were screaming, “SALADS”, but my heart was still on vacation. 🙂
Hope you enjoyed a peek into our vacation! We really did make the best memories and truly enjoyed getting to be just the six of us for an entire week.
If you have any questions about the area, our trip, our condo, etc., please leave a comment or e-mail me alittlebitofeverything83@yahoo.com. I’d love to answer them!
Have a great day!
XO
How fun, friend!! What a great trip, and I am just so sad that the recaps are over! Rosemary is just darling!! Loved reading all of this and seeing all the cute pics of your crew!
Glad it was a great vacation.

You have the best "waiting" kids! If my daughter (and maybe my husband) had to wait that long to eat all week long, they would lose their marbles!!! Give them all a high five from me!
Great pics! As you were telling your story of the long wait for a table, I was seriously envisioning how hangry my crew would be getting. Ha! Glad it was worth the wait!
Oh no! I'm so sad these recaps are over!!! Between the food, the sand, the cute little town and those hats, this looked like the perfect way to end your trip! I'm so glad your fam was able to meet up with you!
I'm not a beach person but your posts have me almost convinced I could be 🙂 So glad y'all had such a great time!
I'm with Brooke! Craig would be all kinds of hangry and getting on my nerves…and the kids would be whining and getting on my nerves. And then I'd be irritated at everyone and getting on THEIR nerves. It would be a giant mess. Hahaha. Your pics are all so cute!! And so glad you finally read The Wife Between Us!! It's my favorite thriller ever I think. That Inspired Chick
What a great trip and thanks for sharing!
How difficult was it difficult riding the bikes with the buggy attached? I can ride a bike, but not very cordinated
I just love that you got to combine your own family vacation with a much larger family vacation day thrown in! And I just loved Nantucket Wedding; a wonderful, light beach read.
Do the restaurants there take reservations? Im with the people above, my family could not handle the wait!
I love your vacation posts! You all seemed to have a great time and even endured the "not so great" parts with a good attitude! And so neat to get to meet up with your extended family!
