A Dominican Republic Spring Break

This post has me ready for summer and sunny skies. I hope after reading you’re ready for the same thing. 🙂

Every couple years we try to plan a Slaughter/Shull Spring Break Trip and due to our schedules we hadn’t done this vacation in three years. It was TIME! When deciding on a destination, we had these things in mind…

  1. Easy to get to-I’m looking at you non-stop flight. 😉
  2. Relatively quick flight.
  3. A beach that would be hot even in early March.
  4. An all-inclusive…with four kids it’s SO fun being able to allow them to eat/drink all throughout the day versus, “Have you had your special treat already today?”.

We’d both recently taken our families to Mexico and loved the convenience of that destination living in Texas so we were on the hunt for something similar.

Shamless plug…we reached out to Clare at Mix and Match Travel Agency who handles most of the Caribbean vacations and she told us about the Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana that opened just a few years ago in Punta Cana. The nonstop flight was pretty quick, the beach was gorgeous and hot, and the food/drinks were absolutely all-inclusive. It was perfect!

I don’t really have a day-to-day recap of the trip but am just sharing all the pics I took. Be sure you check out Shay’s recap today as well. She should have way more pics than me. :). #iwasonvaca #hahaha

Monday morning arrived and we were off…

I scored the GIRL ROW! {My spray tan was a little strong.}

This is the look of a girl who’s ready to VACATION! Each family had two rooms that housed our families of six perfectly for the week. Britty’s set is right here.

Mom and Dad’s room :)…gorgeous views of the ocean are on the other side of that patio, but we arrived at night so it was tough to see.

This top caught my eye in the store…eyelet sleeves and a fun periwinkle color-yes! And I just saw it’s on MAJOR sale!! I’m wearing a small above. And my slides are this version.

Another view of the cute sleeves! The top also comes in white.

The resort was absolutely stunning!

Each morning Shay and I met up for a walk on the beach before the most delish breakfast…omelet or breakfast taco daily! Tank and shorts.

Our days were spent mostly with this view in the sand.

These two girlies had the best week!

ABSOLUTELY precious!

Check out this cutie!

The pools were crazy nice and the colors were all so vibrant!

The only pic of the whole group! Spring Break 2023!

Each evening we all came in to get ready for dinner, dressed up a bit, and then were ready for bed right after.

All the water activities were included…kayaks, paddle boards, sail boats.

Check out that water!

The other side of the resort housed a water park, which was equally as fun. Water slides, lazy river, and a kiddie area made this spot a fun location as well.

Check out Britty! hahaha!

Three cuties all ready for dinner. 🙂

I didn’t take many pictures which is why I’m sharing these where Bowen said, “Both our hair was struggling”. #truth. After a day in the sun, my hair was on the struggle bus each night!

#MoreProof

These two were cracking us up! They did this over and over!

Britt kept saying that Madeley wasn’t heavy but then this would happen.

We had an amazing week with some of our favorite people soaking up the sun and enjoying a week off from all the things.

The resort was stunning, staff was amazing, and I’d highly recommend it if you’re looking for a family friendly all-inclusive.

The views from my room were on point each morning!
