Slaughters Sail to Alaska-Part 2

Happy Thursday, Friends!

If you missed my Part 1 of our Alaska Trip, please check it out here. Apparently my blog vacation was too long because I forgot how to, “Publish”. 😉 You can read all about our pre-cruise stay in Seattle as well as how we spent our first day on the ship.

We’re gonna pick up right where we left off yesterday. Our first full day on the ship happened to be a full day at sea so we did a lot of this…

Uno was on repeat in the Observation Lounge. Gorgeous views and cards are totally my jam!

That evening we watched a show in the theater and then had dinner in the Manhattan Room.

Instead of taking a group pic, we did two by twos.

If you follow along with Mix and Match Travel Agency’s Instagram, then you might recognize some of these pictures. For Takeover Tuesday, I took over the MMT Instagram and shared a Day-in-the-Life on the Norwegian Encore.

Our Day two was a morning on the ship followed by one of my favorite stops, Junea, Alaska.

Tab and I got up while the kiddos were still sleeping to hit up the gym.

A little view from the back of the gym. 🙂

We knew the kiddos would still be asleep so we grabbed breakfast and coffee before going back to the staterooms to get them. This was my favorite breakfast…bacon, tomato, onion, and cheese omelet with fried rice {my heart fell in love with a little fried rice with eggs in China}, and a hashbrown. It was absolutely delicious and I’ve missed it daily since we got home.

These cuties got up and we joined them for another cup of coffee while they ate breakfast. Britt’s breakfast each morning was watermelon and scrambled eggs. Two of her favorite things!

We hit up the go-karts and…

Galaxy Pavilion, a virtual reality arcade.

Then we hit up the old school arcade full of Mario Kart and basketball.

All four were fans…can you tell?

We popped into the Atrium just in time for Balloon Animals.

And someone discovered he had a secret talent.

This is the spot I’d grab a little daily snack…sometimes loaded nachos, sometimes chili, sometimes pretzel bites. It differed depending on my mood. We also fit in a legit lunch before we got off the ship for our Juneau stop.

We kicked it off by enjoying the little town with some window shopping.

This little area had to be my favorite.

They served crepes, seafood, and more. I was so bummed I’d already eaten breakfast, a snack, and lunch at this point. haha!

We met up with our tour for the day and made our way out to the marina where we had four hours of fishing and whale watching on a little private boat.

We spotted lots of bald eagles.

These two were pumped about being on the water for the evening.

Tab and I couldn’t get over these views…gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous.

Our captain took us over to this location so we could spot lots of sea lions enjoying the sun.

We absolutely love being out on the water. Many of our favorite parts of a vacation involve us six on some kind of boat. This one proved to be the same…loved spending our evening on the boat.

We spotted several whales…I’m definitely not a wildlife photographer so imagine this being way cooler in person.

Nix was successful with a catch!

Bowen….

After lots of this, it slipped right off the hook.

I was expecting a cool, cloudy, rainy day but Juneau delivered with the gorgeous weather. The sun came out and we began peeling off layers. It was absolutely perfection!

The girls having the best kind of evening.

Can you spy that light blue amidst the dark trees and mountains? That’s a glacier!

The face we often get to see. 🙂

When we got back to the dock, the guys who’d just gotten off another boat had caught a TON of fish! We couldn’t believe it!

And around 9:00 p.m. we got dropped off back at our ship where we grabbed a little bit to eat before catching some sleep. Day #2 was an absolutely great one!
