If you’re new around here, I’ve been sharing all the vacation pictures from our Disney Cruise last week with the Shull Family.
In case you missed it…
On Day Three, we woke up in Castaway Cay, Disney’s Private Island. I’d heard the BEST things about this island, so I knew it wouldn’t disappoint.
Two steps off the ship, and we bump into Chip and Dale!
Look at the order…by picture four, Chip and Dale were ready for a picture but the kids were way too spread out to fit in a pic. So the one on the left bumped Nixon with his booty to get him to scoot over. You can see Nixon doubled over in laughter. That was right up Nixon’s alley. He couldn’t stop laughing.
I mean. Ashby’s hand gets me every time! Bowen is nervous smiling. He wasn’t super pumped about all the characters but when you’re taking your picture with five other people you don’t have to stand too close.
We had to walk a bit to get to the tram that took us closer to the beach area. And on our walk we stumbled upon…
DAISY DUCK!! Her eyelashes are my favorite. 🙂
And this little pose deserved it’s own picture. Right?
These two are as thick as thieves. 🙂
The last character we came to was Captain Jack Sparrow. The littles wanted nothing to do with him and I couldn’t blame them.
Nothing but beautiful views on the ride to the beach.
The island was beautiful! We rode the tram over to the area beside the water slides. We snagged some chairs and umbrellas and got our places in the sand.
It didn’t take long for these girls to hit the water. My fair skinned girl was starting to get red (Sidenote: I put on TONS of sunscreen and reapply my kids contantly but they’re just fair skinned.) After this I gave her my hat and she wore a t-shirt over her suit to protect her shoulders.
This mama is SO thankful for puddle jumpers. 🙂
Beach Bums 🙂
We parked ourselves on the beach right beside this area. Thanks to the recommendation from Brooke! 🙂
And the kiddos spent some time burying Tab in the sand. I didn’t realize until I was working on this blog post that there’s a random girl in this picture. hahaha! I guess she got in on burying Tab as well.
Let me just tell you how impressed I was with the cleanliness of this island. The sand was gorgeous, the water was beautiful, the food was tasty, the ice cream machines were even better, and overall it was just really clean. We loved Beach Day!
We stopped for a picture with this Olaf statue and then Ashby gave us our own little performance of, “Let it Go”.
Our crew all headed back to the ship. Another fabulous day of fun in the sun!
We hit up the kiddie pool area on the ship for a few minutes before getting ready for Pirate Night!
ARRRGGH!!! Pirate Night was SO MUCH FUN!
We got ready a bit early to get in line to meet Minnie.
SHE ARRIVED!
My favorite pirate 🙂
Minnie was so sweet and all decked out in her pirate gear as well.
If you thought we were crazy before, just wait…we gave everyone a plastic pirate sword on Pirate Night!! At this point, we’d completely lost it. ha!
During dinner we had a little pirate show and these cuties walked around the dining room dancing and singing like pirates.
Then it was PIRATE PARTY TIME!!
All the kids got to get in this one roped off area. Check out our girls!
We were all singing and dancing…it was super fun!
Then Mickey flew in and we ended the party with a fireworks show!
This picture is a little blurry, but we met Faith! We planned Faith’s vacation and looked for her the entire cruise so I was so glad we bumped into her at the pirate party!
The show that night was a funny ventriloquist who put on such a good show. I had a bit of a panic attack mid-show because he was looking for a mom to come up and help. My group was pointing at me because they’re so sweet like that. (I’m being sarcastic here. ha!) And the dad that had helped out right before had to SING on stage!! You guys. I would have died!! Luckily, he chose another lucky mom who helped him out. Thankfully!! The show was great and we ended the night with another FABULOUS day in the books.
Make sure to check out Shay’s blog for her recap of Day Three! We have one day left to cover tomorrow. See you then! XOXO
I love your outfit! Where is it from?
My pirate night outfit? I got both things from a local boutique. If you're local though, they were found on the square in McKinney.
I would have died too if I would have been called on to volunteer on stage! That is not my kind of thing! Looks like another fun day!!
Sarah at MeetTheShaneyfelts
I have no idea what I would have done but I was so nervous! Hahaha!
Oh my goodness! YOU WOULD HAVE DIED if they would have asked you up on stage! The hives alone would have killed you! This day looked sooooo much fun!!!!
Yes, you're right. It would have been over for me!!
Let's skip the gym today and figure out a way to go back to Castaway Cay instead? I just loved it SO MUCH! And I laughed out loud when you commented on our crazy kids with their plastic swords…yeah, that didn't make things more calm for us, did it? Hahaha!
Next time a cruise that makes two stops there!!
Such fun! In Shay's post yesterday, you wore a coral dress to dinner and it was adorable!! Where is that from?!?
Nordstrom! I linked to it last week on Tuesday.
Just precious!! I can't get over the amazing beach!! So pretty!! And you all looked adorable on Pirate night!! So fun!! Xoxo
Thank you!!
That beach is so pretty! These pictures are a great advertisement for someone who is already wanting to go!!!
Kara-you guys would love it!!
So much fun!!!
Kimm-your people would love it as well! Something for all ages!
Y'all make me want to go on a Disney Cruise!!! Loved your shoes in the picture on Shay's blog (gold wedges???) when you girls were dressed for dinner. Can you share where they are from? I've been looking for something very similar!
I got them last year from Nordstrom. They're Steve Madden…maybe you can find them somewhere?
I want to go to Castaway Cove!! What a fun day – you are making me wish for a Disney cruise for my family!!
The island was gorgeous. Nixon commented that the water looked like Sully (from Monsters Inc). Ha!
What an amazing day! Love reading about your trip and seeing all the pictures!
Thank you!!
I'm so glad y'all enjoyed castaway cay so much! We couldn't get over how clean it was too! My kids with swords in a public place would have probably stressed me out but I'm pretty sure all mine had one on pirate night too!!! 🙂
Haha! After we'd passed them out, I thought WHY did we do that. They actually did a good job with them. That pirate party was a blast!
Looks like so much for all!
Looks like such a fun day! Would you say that the cruise would be fun if you went without kids? We're Disney lovers but didn't know if a cruise would just be too much.
You are making me want to take a Disney Cruise and I don't have any kids! So fun! 🙂
Did you ever feel rushed to wake up early to get off the ship? Or to get seats on the beach/pool? Was it ever just too crowded? We're going next March and I'm loving these recaps! Makes me wish we booked for this year
We have taken many cruises that were great but our absolute favorite was the Disney Cruise that we took a few years ago with our grandson. He loved it so much more than Disney World.
