Iceland-Part 3

Hey Hey Hey! How’s your summer going?

I cannot believe we’re already to the end of June. We’ve squeezed the most camps, practices, baseball tournaments, and friend hang outs {almost called them playdates for a second but some of us are way too old for that} that we possibly could.

If you missed Part 1 or Part 2 of my Iceland posts, please check those out before you read today. I’m gonna dive right into the last bit of our Iceland trip…

Our last full day in Iceland was a day where we all got to choose what activity we did. I can’t remember all the options…a cooking class and ATV’s were options-I do remember those! But Tab and I selected The Blue Lagoon, a subterranean spa with healing waters. SIGN ME UP!

The lagoon had a special mask bar area where you could go through four different steps of exfoliating, hydrating, etc. So basically everyone in the water looked like we did in the pic above. There was a fresh water sink with mirrors where you could rinse your face and then go back for the next mask in the line up.

This is a better look at the lagoons. We spent about two hours there before needing to go to the locker rooms to get cleaned up.

This is EXACTLY what I was expecting to look like when I got ready for dinner that evening. 😉

Our last group dinner was one for the books! We took two buses about 45 minutes outside of town to the Ingolfskkaili Viking Restaurant.

Everything about this spot was so cute. The restaurant was kind of in the middle of nowhere which made it feel a little extra special.

That is the front door entrance….how cute is that?!

These Vikings greeted us with a quick little show.

Where they were fighting for….Tab. hahahaha!

As they began talking this woman made eye contact and whispered something to one of the other guys after pointing to Tab. Tab leaned over to me and said, “Uh-oh”. He immediately knew something was up, but was a good sport.

As soon as we got off the bus, this went down so it was a fun way to kick off the evening.

There was ax throwing and archery while we mingled.

And then we entered into the cutest dining space!

It was basically an unlucky kind of night for the Slaughters because Tab was chosen for the activity outside and then the singer asked for volunteers to help her with a dance. Well, we were sitting on her side of the restaurant so my sweet husband STRONGLY encouraged me to go up. I’ve never been so thankful to see other adults volunteer as well!

My embarrassment didn’t last long before the singer made the ENTIRE group stand up and we all did the dance together. It was absolutely hysterical!

Cheers to being good sports! My most fun dinner spot HANDS DOWN! I don’t even remember what food they served because we had that much fun with all the entertainment. Definitely check this spot out if you visit Iceland! And a sweet reader alerted me….

This was the same restaurant where the Real Housewives of Orange County visited when they went to Iceland. ha!

And this was us…after two flights we finally made our way back to Dallas. I look like I need a good night’s sleep.

What an AMAZING vacation! Iceland never was on our radar and if we hadn’t have “won” the trip then we never would have visited but I’m telling anyone and everyone-GO TO ICELAND! It was absolutely gorgeous! Shamless plug…I know a team that can get you there. Reach out to us at Mix and Match Travel and we can get you all set up with ALL THE FUN things Tab and I did while we visited! It was awesome!

XO

Erika, What an amazing trip. How wonderful for you and Tab to experience this together.
Many of the places you visited… and I think the unique restaurant you visited…. were featured in the Hallmark movie, “Love on Iceland.” You should go back watch it. The movie made me fall in love with Iceland. Check it out.
