Best Book of 2024

On January 1st, 2024, when we all decide what we’ll do in the New Year to improve ourselves I made a little vow to read more. My super small goal was at least one book a month. Mission Accomplished! While some months allowed for more extra reading time than others, I’m very happy with my accomplishment.

Here are all the books I read in 2024:

January:

The River We Remember

How to Stay Married

The Last Love Note

February:

The True Love Experiment

The Heiress

The Frozen River

March:

The Women

The Things We Cannot Say

The Berry Pickers

April:

Paris, the Memoir

Tell Me Everything

First Lie Wins

Listen for the Lie

The Many Lives of Mama Love

Nightwork

May:

Darling Girls

June:

The Book Woman’s Daughter

Happiness Falls

Shelterwood

July:

The Swan Song

The Summer We Started Over

The Next Mrs. Parrish

Husbands and Lovers

A Court of Thorns and Roses

The Last Letter

August:

The Paris Widow

The Housemaid is Watching

Pretty Little Wife

God of the Woods

The Wedding People

September:

What in the World

One by One

In the Wild Light

October:

The One

All the Colors of the Dark

November:

Pumpkin Everything

The Family Experiment

December:

The Briar Club

At the end of the year, I’m wrapping up with reading 35 books and listening to 3 audio books! That’s a win in my book! If you’re considering adding reading to your goals for 2025, start small and look what can happen!

Now to the really fun part. I saw this idea early on in 2024 and knew I wanted to do it myself. Here’s my 2024 Book Bracket for the Best Book of the Year!

Each month, I chose my favorite book I read that month and {while I’m in my sports mom era, this felt right} turned it into a little bracket to decide what was my favorite book of the year. I added a couple wild cards to make the numbers even and voila!

Making it to the semi-finals were The Women, The Things We Cannot Say, The Frozen River, and The God of the Woods with the ultimate victor being The Women. This was an AMAZING year of books for me! I’m already looking forward to what I’ll read in 2025!

What do you think? Do you agree? Disagree?

Now it’s your turn…what was YOUR FAVORITE book of the year?!

Thanks for reading today, friends! See you tomorrow!

XO

Although The Women did not top my list, The Frozen River did! Loved it! I’m reading God of the Woods right now and loving it – the author also wrote Long Bright River, which is also a great recommendation if you haven’t read it! Thank you for sharing these reviews this year! You give me good ideas to read 🙂

First of all, I love the bracket idea!
Looking back I think the book that stood out for me the most this year was Go As A River. I know this was more of a “last year” book, but so many books so little time.

Not to be a pest but I sent you a DM the other day hoping to get more info on the Bronco Buddies thing that Bowen did with the highschool. If you have time, I’d love to know how it worked so o can try to do it at my son’s high school. Thanks
