Friends! It’s official. I was a TERRIBLE reader in the month of May! But I saw a really cute book idea for the end of the year and MUST share this month so I’m able to do a 12-month recap in December. {It’ll make sense in December, I promise!}.

I began the month by reading, Darling Girls by Sally Hepworth. Sally is one of my very FAVORITE authors! Her books tend to be in the really meaty fiction genre with some suspense thrown in for good measure. And if you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you know those books are my go-to! Darling Girls didn’t disappoint one bit. It’s a book about three girls {sisters by love and circumstance} who grew up in a foster home with Miss Fairchild as their caretaker. When a body is discovered years later, many many dark secrets from their past come to the surface. I LOVED this book! I’ve seen many reviews noting there’s some child abuse in the story and if that’s a trigger for you, please beware. I think because it was fiction and not a story about someone’s actual life it didn’t bother me like I think it might have had it been a memoir or something. Hands-down would recommend this one to you!
And then I started reading Come and Get It and had to finally quit it. I hate quitting books, but I had this one on my nightstand for over three weeks. I like reading a couple chapters at night because then I’m not on my phone right before bed. It’s a great way for me to get sleepy but I just couldn’t get into it. And that’s coming from a girl who HATES quitting a book! Maybe I’ll pick it back up a year or so from now and love it. {I’ve had that happen before!}. But apparently this just wasn’t the time for me to read this one.

One of Ebby Lee’s friends mentioned to me that she’d been binging Unexpected on Hulu. I asked her several questions about it and it made me think of Teen Mom that I watched years ago. This weekend all our baseball games were cancelled and I did lots of organizing/cleaning. I watched the first season as I went through drawers and yes, basically it’s TLC’s version of Teen Mom. I don’t necessarily recommend this show but it did help me pass the time as I decluttered drawers.

Anytime I wasn’t organizing a drawer, you could find me this weekend watching the Regionals for the College World Series. Some shake-ups occurred, some games went into extra innings, and some nail biter moments happened…all the reasons I LOVE college baseball! At one point, Tab looked at me and goes, “Can you even believe this is you?”. The answer is, “NO”. hahahaha! Two boys and lots of baseball will do it to you!
And that wraps up what I’ve been reading and watching in May! HOPEFULLY, June will be a much better month to report on! Have the best Monday!
XO
I have Daring Girls on my To Be Read list. It looks really good!

You’ll love it!
Anytime I hear anything about college baseball, I think of the Slaughters!!!
BAHAHAHA!
Did you watch the Gamecocks? We almost made it!! The games have been crazy this weekend! So many upsets!
YES!!!
I’ve got a show for you! Watch Dancing with the Devil on Netflix. It’s a 3 episode series (can’t remember), and it’s all about a group of famous Tik Tok dancers that got mixed up in a cult in L.A. It’s fascinating. I’ve followed one of the girls on ig for a while, but I had no idea the drama going on behind the scenes until this weekend! It’s so heartbreaking for the families involved, and it’s just crazy to me how people get mixed up in these types of things!
Can’t wait to watch!
