Everything Entertainment-November & December

Happy ONLY ONE WEEK UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!

Is it just me or are you also getting tons of e-mails with a countdown? Every store I’ve ever shopped online is making sure I know there’s just one week until Christmas. 🙂

I have to slip in this last November & December entertainment post today because tomorrow I’ve got a Book Bracket I can’t wait to share. You’ll wanna come back! And now the competitive side of me is thinking of all the things I could have a bracket for in 2025.

It’s clearly evident my book reading majorly suffers at the end of the year. With all the hustle and bustle, it’s hard for me to fit in reading time just for my enjoyment but I have a couple books to share.

Pumpkin Everything-I got this recommendation from Instagram. They mentioned it was the perfect FALL read. Here are my thoughts…it’s the epitome of a Hallmark-y book, chic-lit at it’s finest. After calling off her wedding, novelist, Amy, is left with a broken heart. She returns to her hometown to take care of her elderly grandfather and to help him run his pumpkin-themed store. She is reunited with an old flame and I don’t wanna spoil too much. I thought the book was cute and a good little reset outside of my normal reads. If you’re into Hallmark movies, add this to your fall reading list for next year!

Pumpkin Everything-Seeing that it is now a Hallmark Movie, I told Ebby Lee I wanted to watch to compare it to the book. So many of you guys are Hallmark Movie fans. I liked the book SO MUCH BETTER than the movie. When reading, I could skim right over the super cheesy parts but watching a movie makes that harder. Skip the movie, read the book.

The Family Experiment-John Marrs with another book full of twists and turns all set in a virtual reality world. This book takes place in the same type of universe as The One. A new reality show is following ten couples who for the next nine months will be raising a baby in the virtual world. {I know. I know. I read the book and it still sounds crazy to me as I type it out.}. The prize is to keep the virtual baby or risk it with the chance of a real child. This novel made me think about things I’d never even considered and while it was super far fetched, I couldn’t put it down.

Briar Club-This book is set in the 1950’s at an all-female boarding house. Grace, the new tenant moves in, and slowly creates a bond amongst all the others. Each girl has her own section of the book where we learn more about her story, her past, and everything that’s led to her arrival at the boarding house. While there were lots of characters, I fell in love with so many of them! A great read!

Holiday Touchdown, A Chiefs Love Story-Again, I hear about Hallmark movies from you guys so I keep giving them chances. I made the girls {even some on my street} join me for a little Christmas movie to watch this one. Was it super cheesy? YES! Did we enjoy it? Also yet. 🙂

It Ends With Us-I finally got a chance to watch this book-turned-movie and loved it. It begins as a love story that quickly turns into abuse and my goodness-I thought it was very well done.

Okay, tomorrow I have an extra fun post with my favorites from each month and a bracket with my BEST BOOK OF 2024! Hope to see you back here tomorrow!

XO

I really enjoyed It Ends with Us too! Definitely a heavy movie but I thought they did a good job with keeping close to the book.

I agree with you on It Ends With Us and the Hallmark Chiefs movie (he’s my favorite Hallmark actor!). I need to read Pumpkin Everything next fall…and bonus fun fact, my brother went to his high school prom with the actress Taylor Cole who starred in the movie.
