Everything Entertainment-September

I’m gonna go ahead and blame the length of this post on the chaos of September. 😉

I didn’t read much AT ALL this month, but I’m gonna give you a quick rundown of what entertained me. Minus the football games, carpools, family dinners, and such.

In the Wild Light….my goodness! What a sweet story! This book by Jeff Zentner I’d describe as just as good fiction book. It’s not a chic-lit, thriller or anything like that just as a good meaty fiction novel. This one mostly takes place in a small east Tennessee town where two high school kids, Delaney and Cash, have really both had a hard go at life. From absentee fathers to drug abusing mothers and more, their lives have been far from easy. Delaney makes a discovery that leads them to a private school hours away and well, I don’t wanna say much more. I laughed, I cried. It was just a really good book. HIGHLY recommend it!!

One By One, after my fourth-ish {I think} Freida McFadden book I finally figured out what her books remind me of. They read like a scary movie that keeps me entertained but often screaming at the tv, “WHY ARE YOU GOING UPSTAIRS?!”. Do you know what I mean? Freida’s books are always entertaining, keep me a bit on the edge of my seat, are always quick reads BUT I do think they often have a few details I’m like, “WHY?!!!”. And One By One was exactly that! A group of six head out on a little getaway to a luxury resort and one by one things begin happening. If you’re a thriller fan, then I’d recommend it. It’s a good read for October!

Ladies, I’m a FAN of Leanne Morgan. Her jokes keep me laughing and I can’t with her accent. She could probably read the phone book and I’d chuckle. So I knew when her book, What in the World, was released I needed to listen! And it didn’t disappoint! Now she is a bit more serious then I was expecting in parts of the book, but she does a beautiful job giving Jesus the credit for how far she’s come and throwing humor into the mix. The chapters were she discussed perimenopause had to be my very favorite. Since I’m such a fan of her accent, I listened to this audio book where she’s narrating it herself. If you’re a fan of Leanne too, then you should read or listen!

I’ve only watched two episodes but if you were a fan of the Bachelor franchise YEARS ago {like high school or college} but feel like it’s really gone down hill, then you should watch this season. I don’t like watching because it seems most of the “contestants” are just trying to snag more followers on social media to land them an influencer job but NOT “The Golden” editions. These guys seem so truly genuine it’s sweet to watch.

Okay, friends! I asked you guys for the best thrillers to read in October and you delivered! I’ll share the results this Friday! What are YOU reading right now?!

XO

I’m reading Love Your Life by Sophie Kinsella and it’s cute. My fav book so far this year is Nora Goes Off Script by Annabelle Monaghan, wonderful read. I agree with you about Frieda’s books, quick reads, fun and both my daughter and I enjoy her books. Cheers to reading!

We seem to have the same taste in books so I added the Frieda McFannen book to my wish list on audible. My sister got me started on the A Court of Thrones and Roses, and I’m onto the 2nd book now. I was skeptical at first, but getting into it now.
