Happy Monday, Friends! This month I was able to read more books than I ever do in a typical month. Throw in a couple extremely long road trips, lots of beach days, and slow mornings and I was able to knock out some great books this month! I was a fan of everything I read this month. Lots to recommend!
I think I’ve ready almost every single one of Elin Hilderbrand’s books and while I’ve enjoyed them all, they tend to run together for me. I can’t name one that had such an interesting plot I can decipher it from the others…UNTIL this one! This book was a little meatier than the other novels she’s written and I was here for it!
You can see from the picture I was reading this on the beach and it was a great one to be diving into while my feet were in the sand. I’d say it was good, but a chick-lit kind of book that gives you all the happy feels when you’re finished.
If you’ve read The Last Mrs. Parrish and were a fan, then add this thriller to your list. It’s based on the same characters and again, the twists and turns in it are a BIT FAR FETCHED but a good read!
This book was such a good one but started off a little slow. It goes back and forth between two points of view, different time periods, different countries so it took me a while to figure out how the two would eventually be connected. Second half of the book really picked up when you saw it all coming together. My encouragement to you is keep reading because it will all be worth it!
I’d heard SO MUCH about this series that when I found myself out of books at the beach I ran into the cutest bookstore and bought this one. I’m sure you’ve heard lots about this series as well. I’m typically not a fantasy girl, but it was good and I think I’ll be reading book #2 at some point. If you can get behind a fantasy love story, then you should try as well. R-rating!
Apparently, the author of The Fourth Wing {remember that other fantasy series?} can write because this is a love story with some really sad twists. However, I didn’t wanna quit reading because I just wanted to know how it would end. Definitely rated R, but a great read!
I’ve watched a few things here and there but nothing great enough to recommend to you so I’m gonna keep it all about the books this month! I will tell you-we watched the original Twister with our kids recently. And I remember thinking that movie was SO good, but watching it all these years later it hits a little differently. I guess we’ve managed to do a LOT with the special effects in movies in the last 25 years? Have you guys watched this one lately and thought the same thing? Still good but let me just say my kids weren’t as impressed as the cow flying by the windshield as I was all those years ago.
What have YOU been reading this month?! I just started The Paris Widow so the verdict is still out on that one!
