Let’s Look-12.11.24

What a YEAR it’s been! I can’t even believe this is our last LET’S LOOK OF THE YEAR! Shay and I are sharing our last post of the year and we’re gonna get into our we unwind during the holidays but first…

In January we shared our closets. Spoiler alert, my girl, Lauren, and I are still trying to find a day for her to come and help me. Promise to show you pics when she’s finished though!

In February, we discussed the little things we do every day. From coffee to walking to chatting with girlfriends, I shared all the things I sneak in my days to make them a little extra special.

In March, we shared a look at our grocery carts. I find myself enjoying other’s grocery store hauls in search of some new food ideas. Hope it helped you too!

In April, we took a peek at our quiet times and what that looks like/even means!

In May, we took a look at our summer closet staples.

June had us chatting, about our summer schedules.

In July, we shared our favorite podcasts and shows to binge.

In August, we chit chatted about what’s in our pantries.

In September, we shared our families’ quick weeknight go-to meals.

October had us looking at how we prep for the holiday season!

Last month we shared our best suggestions on what to gift the men in your life.

Now let’s get right down to the fun today….we’re talking about how we unwind during the holidays. Friends, I’ve gotta tell you. When Tab officiated college football, I would get SO excited about IF he’d get a bowl game and WHERE he’d be going. Most of the time we took the whole family and it became a little family tradition. I absolutely LOVED that.

Remember the Rose Bowl,

Music City Bowl,

and The Peach Bowl?

These were all trips we learned about in December, scrambled to make travel arrangements, and made them happen just a few weeks later. I LOVED this and truly miss these days! However, I will tell you I had no idea how much I’d enjoy staying at home over the holidays.

You know these days?? YES! I absolutely LOVE being at home with my people.

Here are some of my FAVORITE ways to unwind during the holidays…

*FOOTBALL-We’re clearly a football family so whether we’re attending a game in person or watching on t.v., you can bet we’re doing something football-related.

*READ-I get some of my best reading done during Christmas Break.

*MOVIES-This is the perfect time of year to finally watch that movie as a family you’ve been meaning to see.

*BREAK FROM WORKMix and Match Travel Agency is closed over the holiday break which is always a good refresh. I also take a little blog break and it never fails. I ALWAYS come back to both with an extra pep in my step! A break is needed! If you don’t get much time off, consider taking some days off to relax and rejuvenated for 2025!

*FAMILY TIME-I LOVE having my people all together with no where to be for days! YES!!

*FOOD-This is the time of year I pull out some recipes that take longer to make or we’ll try that restaurant we’ve been wanting to try but it’s not conveniently located to anything.

*ORGANIZE it-I love getting a jump on all my organization…calendars, meal plans, blog calendars, etc.

With a husband who officiates football every year our holidays look a bit different. This year is no exception but trust me when I say we’ll be soaking up as much downtime as we possibly can.

If you followed along this year, THANK YOU!! Shay and I are busy working on some new topics for 2025. If you have any great ideas for a Let’s Look post, please share it with us! We do know in January, our first Let’s Look is going to be the third Wednesday of the month. It’ll give us all a bit more time to get settled into the new year before sharing.

Hope you have the best day!

XO

The meme about not knowing what day of the week it is always makes me sad. As a nurse, I do not have that luxury.

Hi Kimbrough! It’s just because we’re off work that week. I have a girlfriend who saves her PTO to get that week off too. Have you thought about that? But you might prefer your PTO on a beach. 🙂
