2023, what a year! We learned a lot, tackled new challenges, had some really highs, a few low lows, gained some confidence, grew a lot {physically, emotionally, AND mentally}, made so many new friends, grew in our faith, and made some amazing memories. I’m so thankful for 2023 and all it brought with it. Here’s a little recap of the Slaughter’s year…
January:

We kicked off the new year with some football. Go figure, huh? 🙂 And {terrible pic} but do you see tiny Nix in the front center of that photo? Crazy what a year can do for a teen!

Britty kicked off the year by celebrating friends at lots of birthday parties!

And Bowen kicked off 2023 with football as well.
February:

Brought a trip to Whistler for these two {along with Andrew & Smith}.

I started this Ruth Bible Study that I LOVED!! And I just got a message from a reader who did the study too and LOVED it as well. If you’re looking for a study to kickoff 2023, consider this one!

We partied hard for Valentine’s Day!

This mama got away for a few days with some of my besties {many not pictured} to Nashville, Tennessee!

Baseball kicked off for Nixon…

And Bowen!
March:

We took our Spring Break Trip to Punta Cana for some fun in the sun with the Shull Crew!

Celebrated BIG with Ebby Lee for making high school cheerleader!

And danced our little hearts out at our elementary school dance.
April:

In April, Ebby Lee turned FOURTEEN!

And Nixon turned THIRTEEN!

I snuck in as much family time as the teen schedules would allow. 😉

Tab and I {looking a BIT exhausted in this pic-ha!} enjoyed his work trip to Santa Barbara.

And at the end of the month, we made it to Orlando for the NFL Officials’ Meeting.
May:

Followed by my 40th Birthday Getaway to Turks!

The Byron Nelson Golf Tournament is always a great mom’s day out…this year with some of my neighborhood friends.

Britt completed another year of swim lessons with Mrs. Sally.

I began my duties as “High School Cheer Mom” by being a parking lot attendant on a WARM Saturday.

Then I got away on the new Disney Wish for a travel agent sailing.

Britty graduated from KINDERGARTEN!

And our neighborhood Memorial Day party was a great one!
June:

Nixon’s middle school team won their local middle school baseball tournament.

And Tab and I made our way to Iceland!

What a trip! When we got home, I thought the kids would love it but I didn’t add it to my trip list. Now that I’ve had time to reflect, I’d love to take the kids!

And we celebrated our FAVORITE dad on Father’s Day!
July:

Our family of six, snuck off to Nantucket to visit the Shulls!

Just a few days later, we found ourselves in Vail, Colorado, for Nixon’s baseball tournament. Bonus…we got to hang with friends too!

In my mind that trip can be summed up by this picture…ALL WITH BLEACHED HAIR! ha!

Then Bowen, Britt, and I made it to Missouri to celebrate my grandparents’ 70th Wedding Anniversary!
August:

Before we knew it, school was starting again! Check out Britt-the first grader and Bowen-the fifth grader.

Freshman cheer kicked off with a bang!

And Britty started her first season of softball {and soccer}!

The Slaughter six got to attend the Arkansas State versus Oklahoma football game in Norman.

And Nixon’s 8th grade year football season began as well.

Grandparent’s Day was a big one at our elementary school!

And Tab did a lot of this every Sunday.

We snuck in as many high school football games on Friday nights as our schedule would allow.
September:

We blinked and this baby was headed to her first Homecoming! {With friends but I just didn’t wanna share everyone’s pic.}

The Mix and Match Travel Agency enjoyed a few days in Mexico!

And I snuck off for my first trip to Lambeau. I say first because it was such a great trip. I can’t wait to return!
October:

It was a football season miracle when Tab’s first “off weekend” collided with our Fall Break so we all go to experience the magic of Disney in the fall.

Britt attended Ebby Lee’s cheer clinic which was extra special.

Football season continued…

Tab and I got to celebrate one of our favorite local nonprofits at their gala.

Halloween was magical!
November:

Britt turned EIGHT with a painting party with friends.

And then celebrated a Cowboys’ win with family!

We loved getting to be with our Missouri family over Thanksgiving.

And then Bowen turned ELEVEN with a Six Flags day with his friends.
December:

We spent as many days as we possibly could making our month extra festive.

We decked the halls and sported our Christmas attire.

And Britty {and Bowen} are both enjoying their first basketball seasons.
That wraps up our year so far! Thank YOU for following along. We have a lot of fun planned the next ten days…some Christmas celebrations, our Missouri family is coming to town, and we’ll be sure to squeeze in some MAJOR relaxation before the New Year.
Tomorrow, I have a big dose of ALL my FAVORITES from the year! See you then!
XO
