Santa Barbara Getaway

Hey There, Friends! Hope you had a great weekend! Both of our boys had baseball tournaments this weekend I was ninety-five percent sure they would both be rained out on Sunday. The Weather Channel and station were predicting so much rain over night. Well, they did me dirty. Both boys played multiple games on Sunday and never even had a delay! I kept thinking I’d have Sunday to “catch up” a bit but spoiler alert-I found myself eating a fast food burger at 9:15 p.m. on Sunday night. I realized the “catch up” wasn’t happening on Sunday. ha!

I’m backtracking a bit in my posts to share a little trip recap. Tab’s company is part of a meeting that occurs yearly. The group comes together to brainstorm, share ideas, and learn. I haven’t been able to tag along on this trip since 2019. With four kids, it’s hard for us both to get away in the spring but Marla stepped in for us this time and helped us make it happen.

Here’s a little recap of our Santa Barabara getaway….

I know I’ve shared this outfit MULTIPLE times but I can’t quit it! This tee, joggers, and bracelets were perfect for our travel day! We took a mid-morning flight and landed {starving} just in time for lunch California time.

The whole flight Tab and I were watching our boys on that handy dandy, Game Changer app. He had Nixon’s game up while I had Bowen’s so we could keep up with both boys. Super thankful for friends who stepped in to get the boys where they needed to be on Sunday.

Before we knew it we were at THE cutest Santa Barbara airport. It was adorable! And we quickly made our way to our resort, The Bacara Ritz Carlton for the next few days. We were absolutely starving so we found the bistro ASAP.

Our room was absolutely adorable with cute views of both the pool and ocean.

I sat out on the patio with my computer getting some work done each day.

We had an outdoor cocktail reception the first evening so I wore this dress {sold out} and sandals. The weather was a bit chilly, but we had a great time meeting everyone we hadn’t seen in a long time. Then we had a delicious sushi dinner afterwards which was way late Texas time.

This navy/white stripe lounge set was my pajamas. They’re some of THE softest material!

Lots of mirror selfies!!

Leggings and tank…when Tab was in meetings I made my way to the fitness center. I should have taken a picture because it was CRAZY nice!

Just added this jacket and my favorite sneakers {which I’m about to have to toss because my toes are busting through the top!}.

This resort was absolutely stunning…my walk to the fitness center was gorgeous.

This little walkway in our building smelled divine! Every time we walked through Tab and I would comment on the smell.

Monday was a bit cloudy in the morning, but the views still got me. 🙂

I love breakfast-it’s slowly becoming my favorite meal of the day so I popped into the bistro for a delish breakfast.

And took a little walk around the property.

The ocean was just a short walk from the resort.

I couldn’t get over all the flowers!!

When Tab got out of his meetings, he and I grabbed lunch and then went on a bike ride {supposedly electric bike ride but my power was off the entire ride there} to a local trail for a gorgeous hike. I didn’t take a single picture because well, I couldn’t ride and hold my cell phone at the same time. hahaha!

My dress, jacket, and sandals for dinner out in Santa Barbara. We went into the cute downtown to enjoy a tapas dinner.

And this was the best pic I got of the two of us when we returned to our resort. #terrible

Tuesday morning brought the SUNSHINE!! And my allergies from the gorgeous walk the day before. Apparently I’m a tad allergic to all those gorgeous flowers.

Leggings, sweatshirt, and sneakers…were perfect for a workout and then a massage while Tab was in meetings.

I LOVE a spa, a massage, AND a eucalyptus steam room. I didn’t even know I loved that until April 18th.

I read and enjoyed the chill vibe in the women’s lounge before my massage.

My dress is old but jacket and similar wedges for the last and final night.

There was another gorgeous cocktail hour before dinner.

I snapped a little pic of the dinner. The guy on the left passed the torch to Tab this year so he’s in charge of planning the event next year. He’s excited and a bit overwhelmed with all the job entails but it’ll be fun.

We got to sleep in, workout and then fly back on Wednesday afternoon. Again, HUGE thanks to everyone who stepped in to help keep the show going here at home. Tab and I had a great getaway and are already looking forward to next year!

And before I go, I must tell you there’s a new episode of The Bestie Breakdown out TODAY! Hope you guys enjoy the listen!

See you back here tomorrow, friends!

XO

Just a little tip! If your shoes are prone to getting holes where your big toe touches, put a strip of moleskin or duct tape on the inside top of your shoe. Your big toe just likes to pop up when you walk, but this will save your shoes from getting the holes there!

Santa Barbara looks lovely! I travel with my best girlfriends every year and I’m wondering if you think this little town could make a fun gals only destination?

I didn’t do much in town other than a dinner one night but another group was going down there for a wine tasting. I think it’d be great!

It looks like y’all had a fabulous time. 🙂 That resort is GORGEOUS and you looked so cute in all of your outfits! Is it weird that I’m already kind of nervous for Tab? Because I am. 😉
