Friends, it’s HOMECOMING WEEK in our house! WAHOO!! Before having a freshman, I never really understood what that meant for moms of cheerleaders but you guys it’s a lot of work. It’s been a fun week so far BUT a lot of work as well. We’ve decked the halls, we’ve cooked out, we’ve practiced for a pep rally, and tonight we have a really cool event as well.
It’s Let’s Look Wednesday, which means…today, Shay and I are looking at our EVENING ROUTINES! Before I dive into our evenings, I wanted to catch you up in case you’ve missed something this year…
If you missed my January post where I shared all about how I schedule/keep track of things for our family, you should check it out.
In February, we shared our medicine cabinets, and you can see all the details in this post.
In March, we highlighted our FAVORITE Amazon purchases, EVER!
In April, we discussed our biggest pet peeves! Some of you agreed with me. 😉
May had us chit chatting about our morning routines.
I skipped the month of June because we were vacationing in Iceland.
In July, we shared our FAVORITE summer find!
Last month, we took a peek at our very worst habits.
And today we’re sharing our evening routines, which led me to this due to our busy Homecoming week…

BAHAHAHAHA! That’s pretty much how I feel each day, not because of my introverted self but because these fall days are my favorite but they’re really busy! We have some sort of practice or game every night but Fridays. Our evenings as of late are a bit chaotic and the schedule is different each and every evening. I decided I’d give you a peek into our Tuesday evening {just last night}….
*Right after school, I made a lasagna and went ahead and put it in the oven. Tuesday nights are middle school football nights and the week before games ran long so we got home to eat dinner at 9:00! We were starving and I vowed to try dinner BEFORE the game the following week. I baked my lasagna and was pulling it out of the oven around 4:30 for us to eat a quick bite before the game.
*Our family sitter picked Britt up to drive her to tutoring/pick her up. Afterwards they just met us at the football game.

*It was the MOST GORGEOUS night for football! That cool fall front finally hit North Texas and it’s GLORIOUS! Tab had a late flight for a quick overnight work trip with meetings early this morning so he left toward the end of the game for the airport.
*On the way home, Ebby Lee {who’d stayed home finishing homework} called to see if I could take her to Walmart to grab a few things for Spirit Days at school this week.
* I dropped Nixon, Bowen and Britt off at home, got them settled with lasagna {take #2 for some of them}, took Ebby Lee to Walmart, and we got back home around 9:00.
*All four of them were a bit exhausted {thank you, Monday Night Football-ha! the game was too good!} so they all headed to bed pretty early!

*This is me at 9:15 p.m. with a real messy kitchen and tired eyes BUT my friend, Erin, always says to do something today your future self will thank you for. And my future self ALWAYS thanks my night time self for cleaning up the kitchen before bed.

*I forgot to take a pic of the true “before”, this was mid-clean when I realized I’d forgotten the pic. Lasagna dishes, after school/game stuff to put away, laundry to get started, etc.

*I found this out on the counter and had to laugh to share with you. A fellow cracked heel friend just told me this week she will super glue her cracked heels and it helps {when they’re REALLY painful}. I ordered some Gorilla Glue on Amazon right after she told me and tried it yesterday. I decided doing it right before the middle school game but it took the glue FOREVER to dry. I had a mild panic attack I was never gonna get my shoe off. But it worked just fine. I’m sure the medical community wouldn’t recommend it but so far it’s really helping my left heel.

*And just 30 minutes later, a clean kitchen {minus those two water bottles I couldn’t open to save my life!}. WAHOO! By the way, I promise a kitchen post is coming soon!

*My future self is ALREADY thankful I cleaned the kitchen and got things ready for the morning.

*And then I went straight to my bathroom to get myself all ready for bed. If you missed my recent post about my nighttime skincare routine, you can read it all in one tiny post.
Every evening is a bit different with a few things consistently happening…Monday-Thursday I like to have some type of home-cooked meal, I like to end the night with the main areas of the house really picked up for the following day, and wash my face/do my skincare routine. Those are the consistent parts of each night!
What about YOU? What do you do every evening as part of your routine? I’d love to hear!

Next month we’re sharing our biggest fears! That should be fun to read!
Have the best Wednesday, Friends! And if you’ve just received some fall temps too, enjoy!
