Let’s Look-7 Ways I Show Gratitude & Britt’s Birthday!

Happy Wednesday! Shay’s out of town so I’m holding down the fort solo this time for Let’s Look. Before I dive into today’s topic, let’s do a recap of our year…

January-We covered our Low Level Goals. These are the goals that will make us feel productive but aren’t anything too difficult. I’m happy to report one item has already been crossed off my list!

February-We shared how we Work on our Marriage.

March-We discussed how we Reset for the Week.

April-We looked at Maintaining Friendships.

May-My Wellness Routine and I shared what that looks like on a weekly basis.

I skipped June & July. 🙁

August-We chatted about Juggling Family Schedules.

September-We discussed Managing Teens.

October-We shared about things we’d said, “NO”, to recently.

In honor of November, we’re talking about WAYS WE SHOW OUR GRATITUDE! I’ve been keeping a running list over the last few weeks of things when I think of them. I’m by no means an expert in this department. My list is crazy simple but what I do to show my gratitude to others…

  1. Say, “THANK YOU”! I know this seems so simple but a friend helping you with a kid, say, “THANK YOU”. A spouse who leaves work early to pick up that item you forgot for dinner, say, “THANK YOU”. A neighbor letting you have three eggs for that recipe, say, “THANK YOU”. Seems simple because it is but it goes a LONG way.
  2. Diving a little deeper into words of affirmation, if you’re thankful for something specific in a friend, spouse, child or family member, tell them. Be specific about the qualities in that person you’re thankful for.

3. Thank you notes….I used to be SO GOOD at these and well, can I blame my four kids?! The way to get me motivated to write a note is to snag some cute stationery.

4. “Just because” gift-To show gratitude, I’ll periodically drop off a little gift just because I’m thankful. It can be a coffee, gift card, my favorite candle, etc. It just lets others know you appreciate them.

5. Sweet text-In this cell phone world we live in, it’s super easy to send a nice text to someone showing appreciate for them.

6. Helping others-I have sweet people in my life who are always helpful when I need it. I try to be that for others who might need some assistance with something. Pay it forward kind of thinking. 😉

7. Return the favor-Another easy way to show gratitude is helping others that have helped me in the past. Carpooling, meals, etc.

We only have ONE more post before the year wraps up! I hope you join us next time. If you blogged your ways to show gratitude, please link up or blog it next week and join then!

Before I sign off today, I’ve gotta wish the BIGGEST BIRTHDAY to Britty! I’m so very thankful I get to be her mama. She is fierce, funny, sweet, and sassy all wrapped up in the teeniest ten-year-old body. To say she has us all wrapped around her finger would be the biggest understatement. We love you more than you can even imagine, sweet girl! Happy, Happy Birthday! I must go to get a birthday party prepped and ready for the birthday girl!
