Happy Happy Wednesday, Friends!
This week I’ve been in the BAHAMAS with Tab. He’s had a work trip and I tagged along {because who could say no to that?!}. I’ve spent the last two days relaxing at the beach. We head back home later this afternoon.
In the mean time, it’s time for another Let’s Look post! Monthly, Shay and I connect to share a little peek at home we do something in our lives. The hope is if we all share then we can learn a bit from each other.
January-We covered our Low Level Goals. These are the goals that will make us feel productive but aren’t anything too difficult. I’m happy to report one item has already been crossed off my list!
February-We shared how we Work on our Marriage.
Today, we’re chatting about HOW WE RESET FOR THE WEEK. I’m a Type B person. There are some things in my life that can be all sorts of chaotic but a few areas I have my life together. Resetting for the week happens to be one of those areas. These are some of my steps each week…
*Refrigerator Clean Out-when this is done weekly, it doesn’t take long at all. I grab any old vegetables {I’m looking at you lettuce} that have seen better days and tidy up.
*I look at the weather AND our calendar to help with my meal planning. I’m a weather-related cook. I don’t want chili on the warmest day of the month so I always take that into consideration. Plus, I look at what nights I need to have something in the slow cooker versus what nights I’ll be home with plenty of time to make dinner on the stove.
*Meal Plan-I’m a grocery delivery girl! So I meal plan, add those items to my cart and choose the time that works best for me when it comes to our delivery.
*Get the laundry caught up! If it’s Sunday afternoon and there’s laundry to do, you’ll find me doing it. I like for laundry to start over when it comes to a fresh week.
*Do a big house pick up! I like for everything in our house to be picked up and put away for the week. This is probably the biggest thing I do to reset for the week.
I know this sounds absolutely ideal but let’s be real, sometimes we have a baseball tournament until late on Sunday night and there’s no time or maybe your family serves at Sunday evening services weekly so your Sunday nights are chaotic. Then choose another time that will work best for you. Maybe it’s Saturday mornings or Saturday afternoons? When we have baseball tournaments, I like to give myself at least an hour on Monday morning to do some of those things I didn’t have a chance to do on Sunday afternoon/evening. Be flexible because maybe another time in the week works better for your schedule. Make your reset work for you!
What am I forgetting, friends?! Should I be adding something to my list?
It’s short and sweet today because I have a beach chair with my name on it. 😉
Hope you join us next month when we talk friendships!
XO
I love a good house reset and Meal prep before the week! Have a great time on vacation!
