Friday Favorites-7.26.24

Happy Friday, Friends! July is almost over and dare I say, I think my carpool duties will slow down once school begins. Maybe I’m crazy talking when I say that? Yesterday was kind of a whirlwind. I met a friend to walk really early in the morning and then had two carpools of groups to drop off at camps. I came home to shower and thought I’d gotten ready for a hair appointment. Well, I sat down in her chair, looked up to see myself in that mirror {that mirror that ALWAYS has me looking a bit like death} and I started laughing out loud. I’d forgotten half my make-up! I got busy doing something mid-make-up application, was making sure all kids got to where they needed to be, AND rushed out the door for my appointment. Oops!

I’m here sharing some of my FAVORITES from the week. Of course, I’m joined by my girl, Andrea!

First up…my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale FAVORITES…you can see everything I ordered here. {Except a few things were already out of stock.}

This sweatshirt is a FAVORITE! The navy/white combo is perfection, it’s super soft and it’s perfect for all those games I’ll be watching this fall. I’m in a medium and love the fit.

This hybrid jacket comes in two different colors and is both that puffer material with knit sleeves. I’m a FAN and this is a keeper!

A better shot of the sleeves. 🙂

My FAVORITE thing from the entire sale MIGHT be this outfit…it’s SO STINKIN’ COMFY! This sweatshirt and the shorts are perfection. Feels like I’m wearing butter. And prior to this I didn’t even know I’d like to wear butter. 😉

I added this black puffer vest and am a fan. It’s a more cropped style but will be great over athleisure/workout clothes this fall.

Another set, and even more fabric that feels like butter! I love the feel of this hoodie and pants. The hoodie is supposed to be cropped so I sized up for a longer fit, but I actually ordered it in my normal size to see if that looks better. I’m in my normal size in the pants and they’re perfect.

I finally embraced the Hoka trend and snagged this pair. I looked down while walking in Rosemary and noticed my shoes had a hole in the toe. It was in that moment I had an epiphany. I have tons of different boots and booties in my closet and probably average wearing those “nicer” shoes only a couple times a month but on the daily I’m grabbing sneakers. To run errands, to walk, to wear to the gym, and those are the shoes I’m spending most of my time in. So, I only ordered a few sneakers during the sale this year. I will tell you…the Hoka’s are SO COMFY!

My mother-in-law, Marla, has made this Ramen Noodle Salad several times for us and each time I LOVE it! Last weekend they joined us for dinner so I asked her for the recipe and let me tell you, it’s a FAVORITE!

1 large head of cabbage

5 green onions, chopped

2 packages uncooked Ramen Noodles {discard the seasoning}

1/2 cup slivered almonds

5 tablespoons butter

Dressing:

1 cup oil {I used avocado oil}

3 tablespoons soy sauce {I used low sodium}

1/2 cup sugar {next time I’m trying stevia}

1/2 red wine vinegar

Finely chop cabbage and onion in a large bowl, chill. Heat butter in skillet over med/low heat and slowly cook noodles and almonds until lightly browned. Let cool. Store in air tight container. Combine dressing ingredients and recipe says to refrigerate overnight but I didn’t. I just gave it a few hours in the refrigerator. SHAKE IT UP A TON! And then mix it all up.

That salad is a new FAVORITE! I love it so much that I ate the soggy leftover salad everyday this week with leftover chicken for lunch.

I just started a new devotional, Upon Waking, and am loving it so far! A new FAVORITE!

    I love the navy and white sweatshirt! I’m a big fan of a soft comfy sweatshirt that isn’t baggy. Looks so cute! I need new tennis shoes too and my sister just got some HOKAs. She loves hers too so I may invest in a pair too. Have a great weekend!

    I appreciate your sense of humor at forgetting half your makeup. Best way to go through life, imho.
