Friends, we have just two weeks + one day until everyone goes back to school. We’re counting down the days, getting things organized, and are ALMOST ready!
I’m back today with Part 2 of our Rosemary Beach vacation! You can see Part 1 and the New Orleans recap as well!
I’m picking up right where we left off but realized I forgot a really good shot from the 4th of July…
How cool is this?! I’m telling you our views for the fireworks were amazing!
We spent lots of our time throwing the football at the beach.
We biked over to the beach daily and then would bike back to our house. I always thought it gave us just enough time to lose the sand but somehow our house always still had lots of sand!
One day I said that I refused to make sandwiches for lunch so we grabbed lunch out at Cowgirl Kitchen. The girls were there too, but at this exact moment they’d walked inside a shop.
This girl is a FAN of the beach!
I snagged a few more cute pics of the Rosemary scenery.
Rosemary Beach has nightly activities and on this particular night we went to the magic show straight off the beach. Don’t let this pic fool you, about five minutes after Tab took it, it started pouring rain and we were drenched.
After several days of friends joining us, we were then back to the Slaughter Six. We had a family night out to Surfing Deer. {We all six gave this meal five stars. Delish!}
She had this cute little outfit and snuck her crocs on right as we walked outside the door! She’s a sneaky one!
Bowen’s gaining on me and just might be my height right now. What a gift it was for us to get away and just have fun!
Kilwin’s was just about one hundred steps from our house so we HAD to pop in for an ice cream. We all agreed. We think heaven is gonna smell JUST like Kilwin’s.
Part 2 has a picture of the cute little gym in Carillon Beach, Paradise! ha! I’d forgotten I’d taken this!
And on our very last night we took the kids to George’s in Alys Beach for our last night out. It was close so we all rode bikes which is a bit tricky when you’re a girl in a dress all dressed up. Britt didn’t let that stop her!
We ate here earlier in the week with our friends but it was an adult-only night so the kids hadn’t visited on this trip.
I mean…you guys! This meal was one of my FAVORITES! Fried grouper, cheesy grits, slaw and hushpuppies?? YES!!
And just like that, our two weeks were over. We had so much fun, made some AMAZING memories and were so thankful we got to get away with our people. Just a sweet little encouragement for us all to take the trip. 🙂
Before our trip was actually over though…we drove to east Texas for Tab’s family reunion. His family reunion’s are a little unique {or maybe yours are this way too?} in that there’s always a theme and usually a speaker of some kind. This year the theme was sports so they asked my favorite guy to speak a little bit.
Tab was up there doing his thing.
The Slaughter crew with Tab’s mom and step-dad.
We arrived home on Sunday evening tired, exhausted, and oh-so-happy to be HOME!
If you made it through all those recaps, THANKS for hanging in there! Happy Wednesday, Friends! See you Friday!
XO
What a fun trip! Thanks so much for sharing!

Thanks for reading!
All of the Florida pictures are SO CUTE!!! Everything looks like it’s straight out of a chick lit novel 🙂 .
It kind of does!
So fun!! We just got back from Anna Maria Island. I am curious about the chairs/umbrella situation on the beaches in Rosemary? I noticed you biked to the beach so was wondering how you haul all of your beach items!
Hi Maddy! Rosemary Beach has a service you can use so I’d reserved chairs/umbrellas daily for us BUT I hadn’t reserved enough chairs/umbrellas for ALL which is why we still biked with some chairs. It’s SO NICE to not have to haul everything down to the beach daily BUT it is a pricey service.
And Maddy, one more thing…Tab had a bike trailer {more for little kids but we used it to haul our beach bag, cooler, boogie boards, etc.}
Looks like a great vacation! so what’s the verdict – was 2 weeks a good time frame or too long, did you actually get in reading mode?
Hi! I definitely got in reading mode and read lots of books-even working in the mornings and chatting with friends/family on the beach. Tab and I LOVED the two weeks and were crazy relaxed. Our kids got a little over it. Think the perfect combo would have been more like ten days BUT I did realize this vacation gave ME two weeks off of carpool, driving kids around, picking kids up, etc. I hadn’t really looked at it like that before but definitely more of a vacation from typical “mom life” for me than anyone else. Tab and I both got work done in the morning so we could enjoy the days. Thanks for asking! We’d DEFINITELY do ten days again but I don’t know if we’ll be able to find ten solid days where everyone is free so not sure this long of a vaca will ever happen again.
What a wonderful trip! I love that you got to get away for an extended time!!!!
Thanks, friend!
I just love that picture of you and Tab at dinner, you should frame it!
Thanks, Amy!
