Valentine Boxes

Hey Hey! Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! Cupid has been working over time at my house putting those “kind word hearts” on everyone’s bathroom mirrors daily. I must tell you Britt noticed I was the only one not getting hearts on my mirror so the next day I noticed a heart on my mirror that said, “I luv my mom”. Isn’t she the sweetest?! Hopefully the kind words are seeping into all four of their hearts!

In honor of all things LOVE + VALENTINES, I thought I’d share with you Britt’s Valentine Box. If you’ve been reading here a while, then you know I don’t really own any crafty gene but thankfully my mother-in-law, Marla, is FULL of them. She always helps the kids create a really fun valentine box and this year was no different. If you need an idea, the steps don’t look too hard!

She started with a round piece of styrofoam for the head and box wrapped in pink paper….

Marla had Britt paint the round styrofoam pink. And then she dried it. 🙂

They hot glued pieces of a toilet paper roll {they also painted pink} to the bottom of the box {and later they added some feathers for a little extra flair.

I’m sure Marla’s just had some stuff sitting around her house like large googly eyes, sparkly pipe cleaners for whiskers, etc. but if not grab a few things from Hobby Lobby to give it a little extra sparkle.

They hot glued the face to the box.

Added her name in sticker letters.

And VOILA~The finished product. A fancy kitty cat valentine box!

Isn’t it cute?!

Again, I can’t take credit when I hear the words, “VALENTINE BOX”, I immediately call Marla to see if she’s free. Thank you, Marla, for another year of an amazingly creative box!

If you need a little more heart day inspiration, Marla and Ebby Lee made the cutest Princess Valentine Box DIY years ago. You can check out that post!

I don’t have the step-by-step for these boxes but Bowen used the Patrick Mahomes box for several years!

And when you’re older and way too cool for this stuff, a toilet box is the perfect addition to the special day. 😉

ALL THINGS VALENTINE’S DAY-This post has a few more suggestions plus TONS OF CLASSROOM GAMES FOR A VALENTINE’S DAY PARTY!
