Hey Hey Hey! A few weeks ago I asked on IG for some questions for a little post. You guys delivered! And I knew it needed a Part 2 and maybe even a Part 3! If you missed the first post, it’s here! Let’s get right to this next round of twelve questions.
Yes, I did cheer in high school but I went to a MUCH smaller school. My high school was a 1A school in Missouri {Ebby Lee is at a 6A school in Texas} where we had very few kids. What I’m trying to say is that my cheer skills weren’t the best but in order to make a smaller school run most kids have to participate in most activities or you don’t have enough people. I cheered for our school teams fifth grade through my senior year. I loved it and definitely enjoyed doing it but if I had to tryout at a big school, I probably wouldn’t have made it. I was great at cheers and dances but jumping/tumbling not so much.
The gymnastics part of the question is yes, I did gymnastics a couple years growing up but what made that tricky is the closest gymnastics gym was forty-five minutes from where I lived. I didn’t love gymnastics so I think once we all realized that and paired it with the time commitment it took to get me there it just wasn’t worth it.
OH MY GOODNESS! What a tough question! This is SO hard for me to choose because I love so many places in the US! Here are a few of my favorites…
I know some people look down on 30A, but if you’ve been before, then you know how gorgeous this part of the United States truly is! We’ve visited several times and have always stayed in Rosemary Beach so I can only speak into that little slice of this gorgeous pie. {I do know there are perks to staying at other towns along 30A.} Rosemary Beach is the most charming little town nestled right on the edge of the gorgeous turquoise waters of the Gulf. The town itself has the cutest little shops and restaurants. The preferred mode of transportation is bikes which makes it a little extra fun for everyone in the family. And on those bikes you can just ride over to other towns to enjoy dinner there. We love this spot in the US!
Another trip I’d do again in a heart beat….is our Bear Lake, Jackson Hole, Yellowstone, and Whitefish trip. I just can’t seem to find another ten days in a row on our summer calendar! We might tweak a few things here and there but every stop along this route was one we’d want to repeat! Doesn’t that pic above almost look fake? The views in EVERY stop were absolutely stunning!
We’ve visited Walt Disney World many times but when we recently took our older teens for Fall Break it might have been our best trip yet! WDW is amazing with littles but with teens dare I say it’s even better?! It truly goes to show there is something for EVERYONE at Disney World!
I wish I could tell you I use something FABULOUS that’s ground breaking. ha! But, I don’t! Right now I’m using Colleen Rothschild’s Cleansing Balm. When I’m traveling I pack these make-up wipes to make things a bit easier.
Ugh…parenting can be so hard and this is a topic that makes things difficult for us, right? I think we all struggle with it! I like to keep my kids busy, because idle hands… With that said though I do know it’s important for them to have down time. They need to rest and recoup as well. My biggest struggle with this is probably just the video game system. We held off for years and while I’m glad we have it, it does bring along more challenges in this department. We typically don’t allow video games during the week {unless it’s pouring rain and we have nothing that night, I might make exceptions} but they’re open to play
Ebby Lee looks all over for clothes. Her favorite places right now are Altar’d State, American Eagle, and Zara.
Right this moment, I think we’re finished for a while. We literally touched almost every space in this house when we did our big project.
Where do I even begin? I’d want to start by giving that girl a big ol’ hug and telling it that it’s ALL gonna work out. Those children you’re YEARNING for….well, it finally happens. God gives you not only one baby, but you have FOUR children! FOUR! Those early, early years of you being homesick for your family in Missouri. That eventually goes away. You put down some roots in McKinney, Texas. You and Tab make great connections. You find friends and a community that feels like home. Right now while your jawline is looking snatched let’s start doing a little extra work on that before it goes south. 😉 And I’d REALLY want her to know that all those little things that feel REALLY big in the moment aren’t something to worry about. ENJOY every moment with those precious four kids because they grow up all too soon.
I’d want to tell her that in 2019, a group of song writers writes a song called Goodness of God and it really sums up how you’ll one day feel. God is so so good to you. He’s so faithful. Continue following Him all of your days.
I’d want to give her another big hug before we leave to assure her there’s lots of FUN, some heartbreak, and exciting adventures ahead.
Daily, I run the dishwasher and empty it, do two loads of laundry, and pick up throughout the day. If I do those three things then I stay on top of the house and things run smoothly. If I skip any of those three things, then I get behind for about seven full days. I’m not sure how the math works out like it does but that’s how it feels.
We have a housekeeper who comes weekly to do the deep cleaning. I do things as needed throughout the week. Sometimes it’s rainy and paw prints get on the floor so I’m doing a lot of cleaning and other times it stays really clean. Varies week to week.
Ebby Lee, my mom and I are headed to PARIS for Spring Break! We’re super excited. None of us have been so we’re looking forward to a fun girl’s getaway! Nixon has baseball so Tab, Bowen and Britt are going to be here holding down the fort. This trip will be super girly and I don’t think Britt’s old enough to really care about anything we’ll be doing so she’s staying with the boys this time.
For summer we haven’t planned it quite yet! We’re having to work in between summer athletics, summer camps, and other summer obligations and well, that just doesn’t leave much time or space on the calendar. We’ve already changed weeks twice! I think we’ve found six days we can get away so we’re working on using that time the best we can.
OH my goodness! I have so many questions about where you’ve traveled prior, what your people like to do, where you live now and are there any great places we could turn into an awesome road trip? REALLY I need more information in order to answer this to the best of my ability. Our family REALLY loves the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort for a quick getaway when we don’t have a lot of time. Plus we can drive so it saves us money on that end.
Tab has a real full-time job! {His NFL officiating isn’t full-time.}. He works as the COO of Darr Equipment in Dallas, Texas. He’s been working there for about seven years and truly loves the company and the people he works with. We’re actually on a work trip with Darr Equipment right now!
I bought this crossbody for Disney but have already worn in to baseball games!
