What’s Up Wednesday-8.30.23

What’s Up Wednesday! I’m gonna link up with Sheaffer and Shay to answer a little about what’s going on around here.

What We’re Eating This Week

Monday-We had THE EASIEST dinner but all of my people loved it. I {actually Bowen-I enlisted him to help} sliced up turkey smoked sausage, sauteed peppers and onions, and cooked rice. We had turkey sausage rice bowls or something like that? The kids were all fans. I made a few extra veggies for me and Tab and DELISH!

Tuesday-Shrimp, baked potatoes and green beans…maybe that combination is super random? But I asked the kids for recommendations and one kid was super specific so I went with it.

Wednesday-And tonight it’s Ebby Lee’s first “official” game day so I’m making burger sliders with sweet potato tots to be a little festive.

Thursday-Thursdays are our CRAZY night! Nixon, Bowen and Britt all have some kind of practice and there’s a varsity football game this week as well. So, that either means we’ll eat whatever we can find…eggs, waffles, leftovers, etc.

Friday-Our family of six is headed out on a little road trip for a college football game. We’ll be dining out on Friday night to be GAME DAY READY on Saturday!

What I’m Reminiscing About

Ebby Lee’s first college football game experience was WAY back in 2010. Tab officiated a college football game in Conway, Arkansas, and the kids and I went up with him to meet my parents to watch.

What I’m Loving

Britty started soccer and I’m LOVING watching her play! She had her first game this past Saturday and she did GREAT!

Her uniform is maybe my favorite thing ever!

That batter box swing looks a bit like she’s golfing but don’t worry…she had two great hits during the game! I’m loving seeing her try new things AND like them.

She’s also playing soccer this season. It was 7000 degrees for her first game this past Saturday so I didn’t snag a picture but she seems to be enjoying this sport as well.

What We’ve Been Up To

PEP RALLIES! Ebby Lee participated in her first pep rally and it was AWESOME! There were so much energy I left there wanting to suit up for the game myself. haha!

FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL GAMES! Our hometown team kicked off the season this past Friday by hosting an out of town team. Our elementary school was highlighted at the game so all the kids got to arrive early and take pics on the field before the game.

I was texting Tab updates throughout the game and it was SO CLOSE…until the very end. We didn’t come out with the win but it was a great way to begin the season.

What I’m Working On

DISNEY VACATIONS!! I’m busy while my kids are at school working on many Walt Disney World vacations! We’d love to help you-if you’re thinking about visiting yourself, please reach out to us!

What I’m Excited About

Hard to tell but both of Bowen’s football teams are BACK!! Bowen’s second team started their season as well so now he’s officially all in on football mode! I’m excited to watch. What’s REALLY better than football on a Saturday? #nothing #absolutelynothing

Guess what else is back for Bowen? BASEBALL! Baseball takes a bit of a back seat during the fall season. My boys both focus on football but they do still play a bit. Bowen’s team started back up with a practice this past weekend.

What I’m Watching/Reading

Okay, I’m still watching Big Brother and it’s maybe getting a bit better? Do you agree? What I’m doing is recording the episodes each week and binging them when I get a chance to sit and relax. I LOVED the big move by Felicia this past week! Cirie is my absolute FAVORITE! I’m hoping she makes it all the way to the end. Either she’s REALLY GOOD at these games or Survivor has given her an advantage because in some of her interviews I’m SHOCKED by how perceptive she is about the game. TEAM CIRIE! What about you??

Still working my way through Go As A River. I’m still loving it, but life has gotten a bit busier than it was in the summer. My reading time has taken a hit!

What I’m Listening To

The QUIET! It’s AMAZING what I can get done during those school hours compared to our summer schedule!

What I’m Wearing

Dare I mention the “cool front” we had this week when temps have been in the 90’s? It made me wanna actually get dressed for the day! Monday, I wore this new top {that will be REALLY darling with some wide leg denim but we’re not there yet with the weather} with my cut offs.

Okay, BAYLOR FANS…this one is for you! I got sucked into an Anthro ad and absolutely LOVE this top. It’s a pretty thick material so I’ll be able to wear it with denim until probably November here in Texas. It can be worn with dress pants, denim, and skirts. It also comes in a neutral tan/white stripe as well. If your school colors include green, you don’t wanna miss this!

What I’m Doing This Weekend

It’s very rare all six of us get to attend a football game TOGETHER but every once in a while the stars align! We’re looking forward to a college football game this weekend!

What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month

I’m excited to get to add Nixon’s football games to our weekly mix!

Hope you guys have a GREAT Wednesday! Thanks for reading today!

XO

I love BB and I love Cirie. I loved her on Survivor too. I’m pleased with the huge move Felicia made. But I’m over the unimaous votes.

WHY do they always do that? I don’t know why it matters if the house is unanimous or not?! I’d get voted out but end up being MORE mad that my closest friends voted me out too! I’m TEAM CIRIE!!
