Rosemary Beach Vacation-Part 1-4th of July Florida Style

Hey Hey Hey! I’m finally back with my first recap of our Florida getaway! Don’t worry! I think there will only be two! I really didn’t take TOO many pics and I’ve decided to throw a TON in today’s post.

Just to recap we left North Texas on Friday, June 28th, dropped Champ at the boarder and headed to New Orleans. You can read our Big Easy Getaway here and then we got up on Saturday to drive the rest of the way to Rosemary Beach which is almost the last little town {plus Inlet Beach} on 30A before you get to Panama City.

The drive on Saturday was about four-ish hours which wasn’t bad at all! Before we knew it…

WE WERE THERE!

And we immediately were starving so we grabbed a little tex-mex at Amigos 30A. By the way, it was our first time to eat there and we loved it! Tab and I both had the bowls with chicken and they were SO GOOD! Good enough that we went back later in the week for dinner with friends! There’s something about you can take the family out of Texas but you can’t take the Texas out of the family, right?

This was our cute little cottage for the next two weeks. The house had a living room, kitchen, dining room and one bathroom on the first floor.

And then the three bedrooms and other bathrooms were upstairs. It was a great little space for our family plus some friends. My favorite thing about the house was the location. It was located RIGHT off Barrett Square which just happened to be where our friends stayed so it was perfection!

We were ALL PUMPED to be there!

The first day we were up and at ’em pretty early! It’s fun to see our kids’ relationships with each other and every so often I get a peek at something real sweet. This just happened to be one of those moments.

One thing our house had was an amazing patio!

Our first full night I’d made reservations at Old Florida Fish House. My dress is this one.

I forced everyone to take a family pic. 🙂

And a selfie for good measure too!

Old Florida Fish House is just a cool spot with such a fun atmosphere that’s stunning!

You can see the cute lights behind us, BUT we hadn’t been in several years and the food wasn’t as good as I remembered. A cool spot but if you go just know you should enjoy the scenery, if you know what I mean?

Loved getting all dressed up after a day at the beach.

Front porch coffee views…I’m telling you the location was our favorite part about the house.

Tab took this so he could show our friends just how close their condo was about to be! They were right on the corner!

There’s a cute little gym about three miles down the road from 30A, Paradise Fitness. The owner is the sweetest and she sells passes for out of town guests. It’s a tiny facility but we highly recommend it, if you’re in the area! The gym in Rosemary is $20 a day per person which would have gotten REAL pricey, but at Paradise Fitness a day pass is $7.40.

I didn’t go every day but when I did go I’d lift weights for about 30 minutes and then take some of the cutest walks. This little area called Carillon Beach was adorable. I’m a sucker for the red, white and blue decor!

We picked up two friends and had a large party for dinner on this night at Watersound Village Market. We all loved our food but this restaurant isn’t even close to the beach. Great food but not as cool location.

My sidekick was apparently too short for my selfie so we took our own pic. And please know she’d seen Ebby Lee and her friend take lots of pictures so right after this Britt said, “Now let’s look at each other”. HAHAHAHA!

So we did that just like the teens do. ha!

forgot to take a picture of my outfit before dinner….my romper is on sale right now!

My FAVORITE way to travel at Rosemary Beach is this…bikes!

We got to celebrate the 4th with fireworks on two different nights. Rosemary celebrated on the 2nd and then we watched neighboring town fireworks on the 4th. On the second, this little spot was showing off.

Everyone was heading down to see the fireworks on the beach.

And someone had shopped with me prior so we’d found matching red/white shorts. Can you tell?

Rosemary is cute on any old day but it’s extra charming this particular week.

We got our chairs/towels all set up and were ready!

The fireworks couldn’t have been closer…great views! {Now who’s kids were those standing in front of us? ha!}

Britty and I felt the SAME WAY!

We got to take LOTS of bike rides, lots of acai bowl runs, lots of coffee trips, and just make lots of memories!

Several of the days we were there the water was absolutely stunning!

Like this one…absolutely gorgeous!

We got all dressed up on the 4th with matching shirts, hats, glasses, and necklaces. We like to keep it classy no matter where we are. 😉

ALL of our people had arrived by dinner on July 4th so I was one happy girl! We didn’t plan this meet up until late this spring but it couldn’t have worked better. My friend, Shanna, knew we were going to the beach and due to baseball they were gonna be REALLY close so decided to head to the beach for a little vacation as well. SO fun to be there at the same time!

What a fun crew for the 4th! No matter where you are on July 4th everyone’s typically in a good mood celebrating and no matter when you’re on vacation typically everyone’s in a good mood. But when you can combine those…vacation + the 4th…it just makes the day a little extra special.

And that wraps up part one of our trip! I promise to be back on Wednesday with part two!

XO
