Happy Happy Wednesday!
I’m working on this post Tuesday afternoon and this is exactly me at the moment…
WHY do I do this?? I even did it in my sleep because I remember being “awake” enough to think-, “Yep, it still hurts”. Please tell me you do this too. Do you? Am I strange?
Moving on…I just saw that meme and laughed out loud because it’s so me.
A couple weeks ago our coffee maker {we had this one but the older version}began making an ounce of coffee instead of it’s regular cup. I shared this with you and when I replaced it with a new coffee marker I got several requests for reviews on this Keurig 2.0. You guys know I prefer a little coffee with my cream. 🙂 With that said, I’m not sure I’m the most qualified to give a coffee maker review, but I’m gonna share my thoughts. Maybe some of you are like me and are looking for a new coffee maker to go with your cream.
If I’m being honest here, a while back when our Shark Ninja started acting up I purchased this Keurig thinking the Ninja would die at any minute and I wanted to be ready. But…the Ninja came back to life and lived for a good year later.
One of the worst qualities I possess is my inability to return items I purchase online. I’m the WORST about missing my “return window”. Which is EXACTLY what happened. So I put this Keurig 2.0 in a closet knowing that eventually we’d need it. That’s exactly what happened.
Pros:
*Super easy set up.
*Also super easy to use.
*A big water basin so it doesn’t have to be refilled daily.
*Makes a cup of coffee very quickly.
{Really these things are all I’m looking for in a coffee maker.} #notfancy
Cons:
*If you unplug it, this machine takes a while to preheat. I think ours might be the exception in this area, but Tab was constantly unplugging this machine at night. The next morning I would be thinking awful things in my head about my sweet husband as I waited IMPATIENTLY for the coffee maker to preheat at 5:10 in the morning. He’s learned we don’t unplug it.
*This will make 8, 10, or 12 ounce cups. Now, I prefer an oversize mug but I always choose the 12 ounces and there’s always a lot of space in my cup. I’m not sure if it makes tiny cups or if I’m used to drinking Big Gulps-coffee edition?
Because this was an-AH!!! OUR COFFEEMAKER STOPPED WORKING MOMENT…we’re using K-cups for now. I’ll eventually buy one of those reuseable pods to add our own coffee to.
Overall, I’m SUPER happy with this purchase.
Now, I’m sure it does a LOT more than what I mentioned because I’ve really only used it in the most simple way, but if you have this coffee maker and know of other functions…please comment!
Or…if you have a different coffee maker, share with us what brand you have!
Thanks for reading today, friends!
XO
Would you consider sharing which reusable pod and coffee you use? In my experience coffee grounds always end up getting into my coffee 🙁
I usually brew a 12 oz cup and reuse the same k cup to brew a 10 oz cup to fill up my travel mug. It tastes exactly the same to me, but I get more coffee 🙂
Glad to hear you love it! It’s on my list to purchase soon!
You can change the color of that light, so during the holidays, I would make it red or green 🙂 .
Sore throats are the worst! Random tip: if you drink a little Apple Cider Vinegar it helps clear is up quickly. It tastes like a foot going down but the results are worth it. Hope you feel better soon!
Just like with book posts, I'm out for any feedback on a coffee post. Never drank a cup in my whole life. I mean, I want to love coffee, but I just don't. And I TOTALLY do the excessive swallowing thing when my throat hurts!!!!!
We didn't have a Keurig till last summer. At our neighborhood garage sale I bought one for $10 from a neighbor. Now I am hooked! Still make a pot to auto come on for my hubby who gets up super early. Then I make 1 cup for me in the Keurig when I get up. Aldi has super prices on their kcups and a good variety. And they still carry Pumpkin Spice coffee. Got to go buy a supply before it's out of stock!!
I love my Keurig but I do miss the smell of coffee making in a coffee pot. However, don't miss the clean up of said pot! Ha!

My mom's old keurig felt like it took forever to heat up too! I do french press with an electric tea kettle and now I can't live without my tea kettle.
I used to be a Keurig fan, but, after two machines “bit the dust”, I switched to the Ninja Coffee Bar, and have never looked back. This coffee maker brews one cup, a travel mug, or an entire carafe. Not only can you choose your brew size, but, you can select the brew strength as well. It comes with a frother to make lattes, etc, and a booklet that has tons of ideas for every kind of coffee drink you can imagine. I make a fresh, delicious smelling cup (or two), every morning. I use paper filters, but, a reusable filter can used. This is a plus in my book…I hate the thought of all those Keurig plastic k-cups filling up our land fills. I’m in love with my Ninja Coffee Bar!!
I use the Electric Buzz kcups from Trader Joe's when I didn't sleep well the night before and I love them!! It's also easy for hot water when using a tea bag.
I brew a 12, then brew 4 more to fill my bigger cup, while using the same k-cup. Then my husband who basically likes hot, coffee flavored water will use the same cup to brew 4-6. It works better with green mountain vs the Aldi's brand.
I think that model you can set it to turn on automatically in the settings (auto on). Maybe that would have the water ready to be brewed quicker?! I love my Keurig since I'm the only one in my family that drinks coffee :)!
I'm definitely a "coffee with my cream" girl myself, and I use my Keurig just like you. I love this post though because I'm certain my Keurig is going to bail on me any day now (its so old!!). Did you look at any other coffee makers to compare? I'm pretty good at just sticking with what I know. HA!!
This made me LOL. Why would Tab unplug it?! I'm cracking up thinking of you standing next to this thing at 5am muttering under your breath about his need to unplug that every night. Hahaha. Because that's what I'd be doing! (Although I don't know what 5am looks like.) Feel better, friend!

After trying THREE cheaper alternatives to the "My K Cup" by Keurig I can say with authority, BUY THE MY K CUP! I mix a decaf breakfast blend and full caffeine french vanilla ground coffee to fill my My K Cup with and my coffee is SO much better than with regular K cups.
We have that same Keurig, for a little over 2 years now and we still love it. I also use it to make hot tea – which would be great for your sore throat! We use both the K-cups (when our kids are visiting and they all like different flavors of coffee) and the reusable pods. The 'standard' size for a serving of coffee is 6 oz, so maybe that's what throws you off? We do not unplug ours at night, but do have it programmed to go off and on at a set time. Enjoy it!
Is there a reason Tab unplugs instead of just turning off? Am I missing a hazard? 😬
I'm like you and need just a little coffee with my cream! Which is why I love Starbucks lattes. This Christmas we got the new Keurig K-Cafe that makes LATTES and cappuccinos!!!!! It has a side little pot that froths the milk and heats it right there. You just add it to your shot of coffee the Keurig added to the coffee mug. I haven't been to Starbucks since Christmas……
And it's easy to clean- just rinse it out after. I refuse to use anything that I have to take apart and put back together to clean.
Keurig K-Café= Game Changer!
Not sure my last comment posted…
This Christmas we got the Keurig K-Café that makes lattes and cappuccinos. (I'm like you and only like a little coffee with my cream.) I haven't been to Starbucks since Christmas. And it's so easy to clean; just rinse out the little pot that the milk was heated and frothed in after you use it. I refuse to use anything that I have to take apart to clean.
I have a newer model, but I think you can set it to turn on at a set time (ours is set for 5am) so it's pre-heated in time for me to wander into the kitchen at 5:15 to make coffee.
it has an auto timer to turn on whatever time you'd like and then time off whenever you are done drinking coffee. No need to unplug! And it will always be ready to brew when you wake-up! We've had our 2.0 going on 4years & love it!
you dont have to wait for the keurig to finish the size you have selected. you can press the power button mid drip if you want a smaller cup. you can choose any size you want .
We finally purchased a reusable pod for our 2.0. I was happy to find out it gives you a 14 oz option 🙂
I'm thinking the fact that you don't have a post today means that you do in fact have a sore throat still, what a bummer!! I hope you feel better soon! On a more caffeinated note, I used to own a Keurig…until I bought a Nespresso Verturo line coffee maker. It really does make the BEST coffee. I would totally recommend this machine as your next purchase!
