Football Fashion-Thanksgiving Edition

Happy Week After Thanksgiving! I hope you guys had a great holiday with your family and friends! Ours looked a tad different than the average year {but I’ll jump into that in a moment}.

First, I’ve gotta know…how did your football team do this weekend? Rivalry Week in college football was oh, so fun! And how excited are we to see some new teams land in those top four playoff spots this season? And my Big 12 loving heart is ecstatic about seeing TCU in the #3 spot! WAHOO!!

Before we break it all down, let’s chat Thanksgiving. The plan for our family was to host my parents and brother’s family here in our “new house”. Well, the best laid plans….

We realized early November that plan wasn’t gonna happen so we punted early so our family would have enough time to make other plans. Tab got his Thanksgiving weekend football assignment which happened to be the Bills/Lions in Detroit. As Thanksgiving got closer we realized Tab’s parents {who we were living with} would also be out of town for the holiday. Womp. Womp. But knowing we’d be able to move in at some point that weekend kept me and the kids here just in case we got the call to start moving in. Spoiler alert-we didn’t get the call until Friday! But we were able to spend our weekend moving back into our house! {YES!!}. If I had it to do over, we’d have joined Tab in Detroit for Thanksgiving or gone to Missouri to visit family but we just didn’t know what the fate of our house situation would be. Still much to be thankful for this holiday season! So the kids and I ended up watching most of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade along with almost all three of the Thanksgiving NFL football games in their entirety. And all three games were REALLY GOOD!

Who were you cheering for this Thanksgiving weekend? In honor of Tab’s game, I’ve got all the Lions’ fans out there COVERED!

Pom Knit Hat | Sanders Jersey | Linen Blazer | Waffle Sweater | Vintage Sweatshirt | Blue DET Hat | Good American Skinny Jeans | Vineyard Vines Tee | Logo Sweatshirt | Black Flat Mules | Lions Gold Stacking Bracelet | Detroit Crewneck Sweatshirt

My favorite thing above my be that vintage Sanders’ jersey. A truly committed Lions’ fan probably already has two in her closet. haha!

This funny football post made me LAUGH! Did you see Kirk Herbstreit in Montana last weekend? I was LOL’ing!

Right before everyone went separate ways on Wednesday, we all went out for a nice dinner at Legacy West. Getting dressed up, having a nice meal, and seeing all the festive lights was just what this mama needed.

Right after taking the picture, Tab said, “That’s a lot of orthodontia in one pic”. hahahaha!

On Friday, Tab was back into town early, we moved some stuff over to the house and then we hit up our downtown for the Christmas Tree Lighting. Ebby Lee bumped into some of her favorite friends.

Britt talked my father-in-law into the ferris wheel.

And I got to see some of my favorite co-workers! Those two ladies in the middle used to babysit my kids and now they’re both amazing moms who I get to work with.

AWWWWW!!! Why do they all have to grow up? Mackenzie started babysitting baby Ebby Lee when she was in high school. We’ve gone through many stages of life together and her and now her hubby, Patrick, have been extra adults loving our kids. When you’re a mom, you realize how special that is when others come alongside you and love your kids. Now, we get to do the same for their babies! {Britt was on Tab’s shoulders during the pic because the tree was hard to see.}

And on Sunday we celebrated our TEN-YEAR-OLD by basically eating all his requests…donuts for breakfast, Jersey Mike’s for lunch, and hibachi {but wearing jerseys} for dinner. Bowen rolled into our family as the third, was the easiest baby and still manages to win the easiest kid category each and every year. He’s got the best attitude, is always cheering for his people, and is the first kid daily to ask me how my day was. Bowen Hency is one special kid. He loves all things sports and is always down to watch any and all sporting events. We’re now bonded forever {I don’t want to jinx us BUT…} with a fantasy football team who began in ninth place and is now currently in first. {I’m a realist so I’m pretty certain we’ll lose this weekend but it’s been good while it lasted.}. Needless to say, it was so much fun to celebrate Bowen Hency this weekend! We love you big, B!

That’s a wrap on my football and Thanksgiving Weekend Talk! See you back here tomorrow, friends!

XO

    Still neat to have seen Tab at our Lions game. Sad they lost. However, we were over the moon excited that Univ. of Michigan beat the pants off OSU. Best game and now my son is heading to Indy to watch them play in the championship game this weekend. Go BLUE!! 🙌🏻💛💙
