Football Fashion-How ‘Bout Them Cowboys

My goodness WHAT A FOOTBALL WEEKEND we just had!

Let’s talk about some of those BIG games from the weekend…

1. Everyone in Texas was watching the Texas/Alabama game! WHOA!!!
2. I love an upset! Especially when a school who has nothing to lose really leaves it all out on the field. That probably stems from me going to a smaller college and feeling like our teams felt this way during so many games. Notre Dame and A&M are the two that quickly come to mind from the weekend. Our neighbor is a Notre Dame alum and huge fan. We were chatting in the street and he was on the struggle bus. Losses like that are TOUGH! But super exciting if you’re that smaller school who no one is expecting to win!
3. Kentucky and Florida was super entertaining!
4. Ebby Lee watched the entire Steelers/Bengals game giving me the play-by-play when I got home from the boys’ baseball games. Then she even had me watch highlights later that night!
5. The BEST way for the NFL season to officially kickoff was that Bills/Rams game on Thursday night. Our fantasy scores got such a jump start thanks to that game. ha!

Notice what game didn’t make the line-up? Our very own, Dallas Cowboys’ game versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. WHAT HAPPENED to our Cowboys? This meme summed up what us fans were all thinking…

Hahahahahaha! If you’re a Cowboys’ fan, isn’t this how you were feeling?

This is my year to go all big with the Cowboys and they let me down week one…womp womp! That’s okay though-I’m not losing heart quite yet. In fact, I have some cute Cowboys’ gear for the season so I’ve gotta keep cheering. ;). I found some CUTE stuff to share with you and added a few things to my own closet.

Even though they walked away with the “L”, I was sporting some of my gear yesterday….my tee and my hat is sold out but I ordered it right here.

The last time we attended a Cowboys’ game is the year I realized we all needed more Cowboys’ gear in our closets. haha!

Sorry for the blurry pics, but Nixon’s been a fan since he could barely walk. Years ago Tab went to some Dallas practices in San Antonio to get some work in. The family tagged along and we got the kids some cute gear as a little souvenir.

We always managed to figure out a way to make a jersey just a little, “extra”.

When I made my list of the Slaughter’s favorites games from last week, I missed a HUGE game, my FAVORITE to be exact, Nixon’s first middle school football game! He’s been looking forward to this day almost since he had that Cowboy’s jersey on….way back in 2011. What a NIGHT! The first game ended in a 0-0 tie…yes, a 0-0 tie! It was a defensive battle, for sure!

I’m not sure who was more excited for the first game.

After the game, us parents were all celebrating the first game with photo sessions! haha!

These boys all play on the same baseball team…three from our school and five from the other {except one missed the pic}. It was a great way to kickoff the season playing friends and pouring out big doses of trash talk. However, after the game they couldn’t have been more complimentary of each other. Now hoping we get our first WIN tonight!
