A Technology Moment

You guys!  This is SO me!  This is about as tech-savvy as I get.  The past week I have been struggling with technology….my blog was doing all kinds of crazy stuff with not uploading pictures and I got a new phone but when I did I lost ALL my contacts except those that I’ve added within the last year.  CA-RAZY!!!

I had the best attitude about it.  I was very Nancy-Drew with all the group texts I was getting and I’d figure out who matched what number.  I was adding lots of my people back.  Until yesterday.  I plugged my phone in and clicked “Restore” because that sounds like a “techy” word that I should click, right??  Well, it was ALL kinds of wrong.  When my phone came on, it had nothing but Tab’s information on it.  Contacts, pictures, e-mails, messages.  After a long call with Apple Tech people, the man finally said the words-“All of your stuff is gone”.   There was this….

I went all Kim Kardashian ugly-cry with the Apple guy.  That poor guy!  Good thing he couldn’t see me in person.  hahaha!

Tab’s pep talk went a little like this…

I was so sad for many reasons, but I had lots of fun festive Christmas pictures to show you.  We’ve been getting into the Christmas spirit over here, BUT those pictures are ALL gone!!   (Insert the sobbing emoji-I’m checking now to make sure I even still have the emojis!!  I’m telling you it was ALL gone.)

After I had “my moment”, I put on my big girl panties and got over it!

Luckily, I added several pictures to Instagram over the week, so there’s a bit of proof of our fun.  🙂  And I’m participating in a fun Christmas photo-challenge.  You should join the fun!!!
#SELFIE day for the new photo-a-day challenge I’m participating in.  Ready for bed and a little Breaking Bad.  Tab and I just started watching and we’re crazy hooked.  It’s definitely NOT a PG type show AT ALL!!  The storyline is so good-we are fans!

#WITHME-Ebby Lee has been a huge help in the kitchen the last couple weeks.  After dinner, she is a great little worker.  I’m not sure if she’s trying to escape the boys or she really enjoys it, but on this day Bowen joined.

#LIGHTS-The Christmas lights on our house this year.  I’m sharing the inside decorations tomorrow!!

#RED-Marla set up her Christmas village and there was all kinds of red involved.  We had a quick little visit over to her house to check it all out.

#FATHER-Their father helped me get this breakfast ready the night before.  Our Elf, Sparky, is back and he’s pretty much moving from one object to another.  hahahaha!

#JOY-On Friday night, I was full of joy!!  Tab’s football games were over.  Hallelujah!  We all love football season, but by the end, Mama is ready for it to be OVER!!  We had soup for dinner, took baths and got into our Christmas pajamas really early.  Then we set out to look at Christmas lights around town.  We had our Christmas music blaring, our hot cocoa in hand, and were having the best time….until we got pulled OVER!!  A police officer turned on his lights and in the middle of town, in our pajamas, we got pulled over.  I seriously took the BEST pictures with lights flashing in the background, BUT they’re gone!  (I’m over it, though. :))  A couple weeks ago, I backed out of our driveway, hit the trash can, and it busted my taillight.  I completely forgot to get it fixed.  The officer was so kind and was fabulous with the kids.  The moment actually ended up being their favorite part of the night.  We left with police badges for EVERYONE!

Then on Saturday we ate at one of our favorite dinner spots in Dallas with some of our favorite friends.  The PERFECT way to spend the first weekend of Tab being home.

Hope you guys had a great weekend as well!!  XOXO

Have you tried backing it up to iTunes? It may be telling you there is not enough iCloud storage. Mine says that too but I back it up to iTunes just fine. 🙂

Please get yourself the Google+ app, sign in with a gmail account, and set it up to back up your photos to the cloud! Then, without doing anything really, you at least won't lose any photos because they'll be backed up in Google!! I'm always so worried about someone saying "It's all gone" so really feel so bad for you 🙁 Glad you are Moving On though!! I'd still be moping.

Oh no I am so sorry! That is horrible! As far as blog goes, I was having major problems with Blogger a couple years ago and one of my readers suggested using Windows Live Writer to write my posts. Oh my gosh what a game changer. You write your posts, upload pics (which is WAY easier…you can even format and crop from there) and then you "save the blog post" and it automatically saves it as a draft in Blogger. I can show you how to set it up on your computer (even at your house if you have a PC) if you want. You can still write posts in Blogger if you want, but this option is so much better! I can't believe I went all those years without it.

Erika..girl I know this is so not funny but I am sitting here laughing so hard. I seriously feel your pain girl. I opened up blogger last night to work on a post and notta, nothing…I was trying so hard to stay calm but I was freaking out inside. I will say I have a Mac and it made life so much better because everytime I plug my phone in everything is backed up. The cloud is great too from what I hear..but I'm not savvy enough to figure that out!!

sometimes technology can just be the worst. I have had some crazy Kim K tear moments because of technology – thankfully my fiancé knows a lot about it and is usually able to calm me down and then fix whatever I have broken!
