Girls…we’re having all kinds of technical errors over here! At the bottom of the post, it’s all off to one side and I can NOT figure out how to get it centered. So sorry!! Can you do me a favor and just tilt your head a bit while you read? And…the font is appearing smaller than it is when I edit my post. On second thought, grab a magnifying glass and then tilt your head. Deal? Thanks, girls!! 😉
Hey! Hey! It’s Friday!! Can you believe only THREE weeks until Christmas?? I love everything about this time of year I wish we could slow time down just a bit. 🙂
First things first…make sure you go check out Shay and Sheaffer’s last giveaway. They’re having a week FULL of FABULOUS giveaways. Each day the giveaways seem to get bigger and better so odds are they’re giving away a car today!! #youneverknow #imthinkingacar
Today I’m sharing one of my family FAVORITES this time of year!! Each year in Missouri over Christmas my mom hosts an out of the box-Christmas dinner, Christmas games, and odds are-Christmas carols. 🙂 The games are always my favorite part! I thought it’d be fun with Christmas coming up for me to share a few of our favorites! I know we didn’t think of this term, but we refer to them as our “Reindeer Games”. 🙂
#1 Pass the Ornament (or in our case a softball)
These games were SO much fun!! They’d be great for a New Year’s Eve party or any party for that matter. We had 15 people playing, so we split into three teams. For the first game, we only had one softball so we timed each group and the fastest team won. We all lined up and passed the softball from person to person without using hands. It was hysterical!!! It was also fun to get to see everyone play (instead of us all going at once).
#2 Pass the Snowball
The next game was just as fun to watch. We did it again one team at a time and just used a stopwatch on a cell phone. Each person put Vaseline on their nose and we had to move five cotton balls from one bowl to another without using hands. The team with the quickest time-won!
#3 Buildin’ a Snowman
Last game was balancing a popsicle stick in your mouth and at the same time stacking four dice, then passing everything to the next person in line. First team through won. I don’t want to rub it in or anything, but guess whose team won??? 🙂
#4 Ornament Race
The year before we did relay races (very short because we were in a living room) with an ornament stuck between two faces. Every couple shown is married. 🙂
You had to go from one side of the room to the other keeping the ornament between your faces and you couldn’t use your hands.
#5 Rudolph Race
In 2012, it might have been my favorite game EVER!! We split into two big groups. We had to run down to my grandparents, blow up a balloon, stuff it in the panty hose, and run back. We did this until there were ten balloons on each side of the panty hose to make reindeer antlers. Then the team had to all sing “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer”! The first team finished with everything…won!
Check out my grandma (the best sport EVER) with her reindeer antlers while everyone’s singing, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”!!
You guys!! If you’re having a Christmas party or get-together, you HAVE to try this game!
#6 Rudolph Roll
Just yesterday I came across another good idea….using a big pile of saran wrap and five-seven small goodies. Depending on the crowd, you could do candy, gift cards, jewelry. You roll it all up in a ball, but we’re talking a giant mess of saran wrap. Have two dice and pick a “Rudolph” (doubles, or the number four). Everytime someone gets a “Rudolph” they get to start unwrapping and keep the goodies they unwrap until someone else rolls a “Rudolph”. I’m a big fan of any game, so game PLUS goodies…win-win for me! haha!
What about you guys? Do you have any fun Reindeer games you play? PLEASE share away!! We’d all love to hear your ideas! Have a great weekend!
How super fun!!!!
How cute is that!! Love your fun reindeer games!! What a fun tradition!!
Pass The Snowball almost gave me a panic attack! BOWLS FULL OF COTTON!!!!!!! All of the hairs on my arms are standing on end and my teeth hurt. How am I going to erase those images from my brain today? I fear they will haunt me.
😉
I am totally stealing all of these ideas for our Christmas Eve party! So much fun!!
These look like so much fun!! Thank you for sharing!
Looks like alot of fun. 🙂
We host Christmas Eve and I always plan several games, so fun! I love these ideas, we've never done any of them, but we will be this year! In the past, we've done a couple of the "minute to win it" games, Pinterest has a ton of these.
Those games look so fun!!!!
What a crazy fun thing to do with your family!!!!
What great ideas, how fun!!!
I have never heard of anything like this and I'm in LOVE! I am officially going to make at least one of the games a tradition at my parents on Christmas Eve this year. Love this so much!
I LOVE this post!! I am totally going to use some of these games! ! Thank you : )
I have a question about the dice game that you won.
When you say you stack the dice on to the popsicle stick and and then you have to pass it , how do you pass it? Do you take the popsicle stick out of your mouth and have to balance the dice as you hand it to somebody else?
Thank you : )
We just passed the dice with our hands once they'd all been stacked. You could definitely make it tougher doing that though! 🙂
Hi Erika,
We love games too!! Always, play several Christmas and everyone loves it!!! Have a great weekend!

So many fun games! Thanks for all the ideas! I always think of the show Mad Men when I see the Pass the Ornament game, but they do it with an orange. I had never seen the game before seeing it on the show and it always looked so fun!
