Monday-We’re celebrating a special birthday with Marla, so Mama has the night off from cooking. 🙂
Tuesday-King Ranch Joes {in the Simmers’ cookbook}
Wednesday-Chicken Enchilada Quinoa Soup
Thursday-Beef Enchilada Tacos…{Simmers’ cookbook too} clearly I was feeling Mexican food when I planned our menu for the week.
Friday-Kitchen Closed. 🙂
What I’m Reminiscing About:
Last year around this time Britt was just getting the “okay” to eat solid foods again after her palate surgery. You guys! That surgery was tough. There were lots of tears shed from both of us, and I’m just so glad we’re on this side of that now.
What I’m Loving:
Oftentimes our week nights are full of crazy practice schedules but I absolutely LOVE getting to watch them do “their thing”.
This girl managed to sneak off at the volleyball game on Saturday {she was looking for Nixon} and the game on the court next to us HAD TO STOP because Britt Slaughter was walking right through the middle of it! EEEK!! Talk about being embarrassed! You guys know I turn red and running over to retrieve my kiddo from the middle of the volleyball court with EVERYONE watching, well-I’m pretty sure my neck was red.
Flag football is in full swing and maybe it’s the nice indoor facilities or that cute little #34…but it’s one of my favorite games to watch.
Bowen is getting to play flag football this season too. His team has had lots of rain outs so far, but we’re hopeful this weekend is a dry one!
What We’ve Been Up To:
Did you see my post on Wednesday? Last weekend, Ebby Lee and I took a fabulous little girl’s trip to NYC to celebrate Kensington’s birthday. We had so much fun! Don’t miss that recap!
What I’m Dreading:
I’m one closet down and just have about three to go. 🙂 Why are cleaning out closets what I dread EVERY SINGLE MONTH? haha! I need to add that feeling I have when it’s all done is SO WORTH IT though…right?

What I’m Excited About:
OKTOBERFEST!
Last year I was out of town on a girls’ trip so I missed this, but this weekend is Oktoberfest in our town. The festival is always so much fun…carnival rides, petting zoo, good food…it’s just a REALLY fun time! The kiddos and I will be hitting this up sometime this weekend.
What I’m watching/reading:
I just started One Plus One.
After reading a lot this summer, I figured the best way for me to share books with you was by season…it’s so much easier for me to keep up with. Some months I read a lot and other months I didn’t read much so monthly just wasn’t working. I was forgetting what I’d already shared when I added them to my Friday Favorites. But…this new system is working well for me. So, sometime in Novemberish, I’ll share the big list of all the books I read this fall.
