Right behind “Day in the Life” posts are “Make-Up Routine” posts as some of my all-time favorites to read. I’m not sure if it’s because I love trying new products and getting new ideas OR if it’s because I’m just plain nosy, but no matter the reason-I love reading these posts. And I hope you do too!
Toward the end of the summer, I stopped into Nordstrom and popped in the Charlotte Tilbury counter. I was looking for a few new items and I left there well versed in all things Charlotte. As well as came home with new products I loved.
Then when Shay and I were in New York City, we hit up the Bobbi Brown counter and my make-up bag was re-vamped once again. I’ve added other items I already had and now I have two different everyday make-up looks I want to share.
This look feels more “matte” to me.
This was my go-to line-up…
Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow Face Primer-This gives you face a hint of shine along with prepares it for your foundation.
Magic Foundation-I was all out of the foundation I used most of the summer but was looking for a little more coverage during the fall months. I use my Beauty Blender to apply. My color is 3 Fair.
Magic Powder-This is super light and has the smallest hint of sheen. I apply with this brush and have the “2” in this powder.
Nars Bronzer-Someone told me to use the “Laguna” bronzer and I’ve been using it ever since. It gives just a little beachy glow.
Tarte Blush-This came in my Sephora Play Box recently and I’m a big fan. My color is paaarty. {By the way, if you love trying new products-I’d highly recommend the Sephora Play Box subscription. For just $10 a month, you get five new products to try.}
Magic Away Concealer-The sweet lady at the Charlotte counter told me to only apply this to my inner eye area to get rid of the blue/gray. This is super easy to apply with the built-in brush. I have 3-Fair.
Not pictured-For my eyes, I used the Urban Decay palette that’s old and is no longer in production. And a super old eye liner that’s down to the very end so I can’t even see the brand/color. It was from Target and I really have no clue what brand or shade.
Lip Cheat-You know me-my first question was, “What color will make my teeth look the whitest?”. Her instant response was “Pillow Talk”, but we’re all sold out. I got this lip pencil instead and I’ve been coloring my lips and then add this gloss in “high society”.
A few extra products..
Unisex Healthy Glow-I only wear this when I’m headed to the gym {and not putting on make-up}. It gives my face some color along with moisturizes.
Magic Night Cream-I bought this in a gift set during the Anniversary Sale and love how moisturizing this product is.
This look seems to have a more “dewy” finish.
Line-up #2…
Bobbi Brown Illuminating Moisture Balm-I wore this early in 2018, used my entire bottle, and it was so hard to find in stock I gave up on it! I guess you should make a trip to NYC, if you’re in search of this product. 🙂 I found it online at Sephora right now…”golden glow” is the color.
Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick-I’ve been using this product for years and am a huge fan. I use 3.5-warm beige and apply with this brush.
Bronzing Powder-My shade is “medium”. Sold out at Nordstrom, but Sephora has it in stock.
Bobbi Brown Blush-In “tawny”.
Hydrating Eye Cream-I’ve used this product before and have always liked it, but Sophie at the Bobbi Brown counter in NYC showed me a different way to apply that really seems to work. I put my foundation and powder on and then I apply this hydrating cream under my eyes with this brush.
Intensive Skin Serum Concealer-Then I add a little concealer {“cool sand”} under my eyes and blend with that brush. I think what typically happens is I add concealer to already dry under eyes, but by using the hydrating cream right before the concealer it really helps my eyes look better.
Shadow Stick-I used the “truffle” and “nude beach”. I have a few other colors as well, but that’s what pictured above.
Eye Pencil-“Mahogany”.
MAC Haute and Naughty-Shay raves so much about this mascara. I had to try it out for myself. 🙂
Lip Pencil-In “nude”.
Luxe Lip Color-Mine is “Bahama Brown”, but is all sold out at the moment.
A lot of these products are 15% off right now! Good thing my make-up bag is full or I’d be off to shop. 🙂
And I feel like I should add…I’m by no means a make-up expert. I’m just a girl standing in front of a make-up counter asking a LOT of questions. hahahaha! #teachmeyourways
What about YOU? Do you have any products you’re loving right now? What are your go-to make-up items?
Thanks for reading today!
XO
I LOVE makeup and skin care. Your makeup looks amazing in both pics above- but I especially love the second look. Your eyes look huge. You are killing it in the blog posts lately…..I really appreciate all the work you do on them, and I'm loving them.
I got that Tarte blush as my Sephora birthday gift last year and LOVED it! I also love Laura Mercier’s translucent setting powder and Young Loving’s eyeshadows!
I love a peek into people’s makeup bags. Both looks look great! Thanks for sharing new ideas!
Erika! YOU ARE GLOWING! Your make-up looks amazing, AND SO DOES YOUR HAIR.
Oh, this is so good!! I love some new makeup recommendations! I’m off to try some of these out!
I love the Tarte blush and the Nars bronzer is a favorite! I'm putting some of these other products in my notes to try next! Simply Tish
Our makeover was one of my VERY favorite things we did on the trip!!!!
Love these type of posts!
Love make up and finding new products and colors. Haven't used BB in so long might need to look into it again.
Love seeing these kinds of posts, too! I love IT Cosmetics CC Cream especially in the summer (love that it includes SPF)!
I love makeup posts! Grabbing a few things for sure! That Inspired Chick
The last time I was at a beauty counter for makeup tips was over 30 years ago when I was 16 and my mom took me to the Clinique counter to get some starter makeup.
After seeing Shay's post and then yours today I need to make a trip to Nordstrom get some makeup tips. When you go do you go with all your makeup off so they can do your complete makeup or do you go in there with all your makeup on and they offer tips that way? Help a newbie out please!!
I go with make-up. They will take it off if they need to. 🙂
Not about makeup but what do you use to hold your curl? Does it hold everything together for the whole day?
Can you tell me what lip gloss is used in the second look?
Hi! I use a Hot Tools curling iron. If there’s not crazy Texas humidity, it holds all day. Ha! And so sorry I forgot that second gloss. It’s Bobbi Brown nude-8.
I love all of your products. So many that I have not tried yet, but want to.
Your new make up looks really Good. I just did a bit of a refresh myself a few weeks ago.
