This and That

Happy Thursday, Everyone!

I have a little bit of this and a little bit of that for you today.  🙂
First up, is our football dinner we had earlier this week.  After learning about all the Game Time Goodies Wal-Mart has to offer, I ordered some fun festive touches to make our table special.

{Last year we did this on the opening night of baseball season, but someone got a hold of a “bad hot dog” and let’s just say the night didn’t end well.}

Who knew I’d be one-click away from football-party-throwing-ready thanks to Wal-Mart?

I shared the jerseys I bought my crew on Wal-Mart.com earlier this month and wanted to share some of the other cute items they have to get you Game Day ready.

I grabbed this football garland, football table cloth {mine exact table cloth is sold out-if you’re hosting a party with lots of tables, banquet, or something similar-I’d recommend this roll, plates, napkins, popcorn boxes, pinata, and toothpicks.  I set it up while my kiddos were upstairs playing on Sunday afternoon and they were so excited when they came downstairs.  #itsthelittlethings

I made a variety of Shay’s Super Bowl Bites…sausage balls, chicken bites, queso and more.  Since Ebby Lee has braces and popcorn is a big NO, I filled the little boxes with tortilla chips for the queso.

See those “we’re #1” hands?  They came in a pack of eight and after the kiddos ate they decorated them {with just markers} with their favorite teams’ colors.  That’d make a great football party craft!

These goodies would be great for a football-themed birthday party, Game Day, or it was a fun way to spice up a regular dinner and everyone in my family loved it!

And remember if you’re on the hunt for Game Day Gear, be sure to check out Wal-Mart.  They have a wide variety of items all at great prices!

You can shop it all right here…

Thanks to Wal-Mart for sponsoring a portion of this post.

I asked last week for recommendations for shows similar to some of my past faves…

Like all of these.  🙂

You guys were so sweet to send me your suggestions and I’ve had several people ask if I’d post all the shows you guys recommended.  I’m a people pleaser, so I’m giving the people what they’re asking for.  Ha!  Be prepared-this list is LONG!  But I hope everyone leaves today with a new show they’d like to watch.

I’ve watched these and just forgot to mention them…
Friday Night Lights
Tab and I watched this show while it was on so we had to wait {PATIENTLY} every week for a new episode.

The OC
Tab and I watched this the first year we were married and loved it!

 90210
I’m pretty sure I had a super similar poster hanging on my wall when I was younger.

90210
I loved this version too.

Dawson’s Creek
I watched Dawson’s Creek when it was on…so good!

This Is Us
I watched most of the first season, but I got behind and could not keep up.  And it left me so emotionally drained each week-I gave it up.  After your comments, maybe I need to retry this one?

Brothers and Sisters
I LOVED this show…super similar to Parenthood.

Schitt’s Creek
My mom is reading this somewhere shaking her head.  I’m not sure I’ve seen all the seasons?  This one isn’t appropriate with kiddos in the room.  Rated R for language!

Grey’s Anatomy
I didn’t finish this one, but watched it for YEARS.

Friends
Yes, yes, yes….watched this one.

Ozark
I only watched one episode, but maybe I need to give this one another shot too?

The Good Wife
Tab and I watched a couple seasons live and then we probably missed the premiere and stopped.

This is a list of all the shows you recommended I haven’t seen…{It’s super long, but I thought the pictures helped!}

Veronica Mars

Heartland

Good Witch

Jack Ryan

Vampire Diaries

Atypical

See you tomorrow!

Suits!!!! I started watching in May after the royal wedding but I instantly got hooked because the writing is so great on the show! I just finished season 8 and am obsessed! I got everyone around me to watch it, too, and they all talked about how great it was!

Jack Ryan is great because it's one Tab would probably watch with you. I love having dessert after we put the kiddos to bed and having something to watch together. It's really good. Only 8 episodes, but boy do they PACK action into those 8. We cannot wait for season 2!!!

Hart of DIxie is one I just watched and I LOVED it! I agree on with This is Us, it's just so sad!!! 🙁
13 Reasons Why is a good message, but also super depressing! Just my opinion. 🙂

Love this post! It's always good to find new shows that aren't rated R. I think the show that doesn't get enough love is Madame Secretary. It's SO GOOD! And if you loved Downton Abbey… POLDARK.

I'm not into This is Us either! I watched so many episodes and just don't get the hype. Does not even come close to my beloved Parenthood!

Jack Ryan!! Very suspenseful but perfect for you and Tab to watch together. I’ve wanted to try several of these you and others recommended, but we’re always looking for one we can watch together. We were so bummed there were only 8 episodes and are dying for the next season to come out.

We watched Jack Ryan in a week. Loved it! Also, The Crown is really good too. The first season of Ozark had me hooked, but it's so dark that I haven't been wanting to watch it lately.

I am glad to see someone else wasn't a huge fan of This is Us. I just feel like no family has all that drama all the time. I wish they would throw in more comedy and make things turn out at least " ok" for some of the family members!
