What’s Up Wednesday! I’m gonna link up with Sheaffer and Shay to answer a little about what’s going on around here. Yes, I’m here with you a week early but next week due to Thanksgiving Break I’ll be taking the week off. Thought I’d sneak this in before the month was over. 🙂
What We’re Eating This Week
This is my FAVORITE time of year to get in the kitchen! The temps are finally dropping and lots of fall favorites have been on the menu.
Monday-I found this Italian Chicken Soup recipe probably ten years ago. I’ll forewarn you it makes a lot! I usually make this once a year, we eat leftovers for multiple days and then I tuck it away for next year. My kids all enjoyed this one more than I remember them liking it in year’s past. Win-win this year in my house!
Tuesday-Last night we had Baked Potato Soup with sausage on the side. Tab was out of town so I served up a kid favorite.
Wednesday-Tonight we’re having Chicken Lettuce Wrap Bowls. This is just kind of a random recipe I’ve tweaked over the years. I brown ground chicken {about 3 pounds for my family}, add soy sauce and seasonings, then I throw in shredded carrots and diced water chestnuts and cook a bit until the veggies are soft. I serve ours in bowl form…with rice, broccoli, edamame, sweet chili sauce, etc. I add anything the kids like to the “buffet”.
Thursday-Taco Night…served as a taco salad, bowl, tacos, or nachos!
Friday-GAME NIGHT! We’ll be out of the house and in GAME MODE!
What I’m Reminiscing About
This cutie turns TWELVE next week on Thanksgiving Eve. I’ve been reminiscing about all the memories of him as the baby.
What I’m Loving
I haven’t even tried this on, but I just got this sweatshirt in the mail. I LOVE it! You can add your kids’ school, the mascot name, a business, and so much more. Any gift that’s personalized is extra sweet! I’d LOVE this as a Christmas gift and am sure so many others would as well!
What We’ve Been Up To
Bowen and a friend had a joint 12th birthday party last weekend at a local paintball place. Can you spot them out there on the course?
Eleven twelve-year-old boys…lots of fun was had!
I’m SO very thankful another mom and I teamed up to do this for the boys. They had a blast! The weather was perfection! And it was birthday party success! The before and the after…
They look tough, right?
Some snacks, cookie cakes, and drinks…easiest party EVER!

Lovejoy in Round #2 of the playoffs this Friday! Our family is so pumped about this!
What I’m Reading
The Family Experiment…it’s another novel by John Marrs so it’s out there! In this one, a reality show follows couples who’ve created a virtual reality child in the Metaverse. {As I type that out, I realize how crazy it sounds.}. The viewers get to vote on who wins and we follow each couple to dive a little deeper into their lives. I’m over halfway through and while it’s VERY out there, I can’t wait to see how it ends!
