What’s Up Wednesday! I’m gonna link up with Sheaffer and Shay to answer a little about what’s going on around here.
What We’re Eating This Week
Monday-Tab was out of town, Nixon had a football team dinner, Bowen had baseball practice so it was a complete hodge podge of dinner. Sandwiches, leftovers and basically whatever you could find was on the menu.
Tuesday-One of our VERY favorite fall dinners is Shay’s Pumpkin & Sausage Pasta. I added lean ground beef to stretch the meal to accommodate all seven of us {my mom flew in yesterday}, used chickpea pasta, and added broccoli as our side. EASY PEASY and so very “fall”.
Wednesday-Today, I’m heading out of town with Tab to tag along on a football trip. ;). My mom is holding down the fort. The kids requested tomato basil soup with grilled cheese one night.
Thursday-They also asked for spaghetti and meatballs so maybe that will happen on Thursday?
Friday-Tab and I will be back in town and we’ll probably grab dinner out so no one has to cook on Friday!
What I’m Reminiscing About
I’m thinking back to last year around this town when I went to watch Tab’s football game. The destination was just a BIT different.
What I’m Loving
I’m loving watching this girl play softball! She loves it despite the HOT temperatures still happening in Texas. Last Friday night, I got in from Mexico, made it to softball and then we hit up the football game.
I’m also loving an early afternoon Saturday flight. Tab got to watch both of Bowen’s football games on Saturday morning since he flight left a bit later.
What We’ve Been Up To
I just got back from a little Mexico getaway with the Mix and Match Travel Team! We stayed at a gorgeous resort that had the nicest rooms. Isn’t that ceiling CUTE?!
It was FUN getting away with these ladies for a little relaxing time!
What I’m Working On
I’m working on ordering the boys some pants. I keep putting it off and then periodically they’ll come downstairs dressed for church in jeans that are WAY too short! Best ideas for teen boys?
What I’m Excited About
The next couple days away with this guy!
What I’m Watching/Reading
I’ve been watching ALL THE FOOTBALL! Who else is HERE for the Travis Kelce/Taylor Swift info? I can’t get enough!
Still working my way through Go As A River. I’m still loving it, but life has gotten a bit busier than it was in the summer. My reading time has taken a hit!
What I’m Listening To
I’ve mentioned this podcast before but it’s worth repeating! I’ve been listening to all the New Heights episodes each week with your boys, Jason & Travis Kelce.
What I’m Wearing
LOTS of Game Day Gear around here!
What I’m Doing This Weekend
ALL THE SPORTS! These days exhaust me BUT they’re my absolute favorite days. We just might sneak in some time at the State Fair too!
What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month
The Slaughter Six have a fun little getaway planned next week for Fall Break. Tab just miraculously is “off” from football that weekend so I’ve got all my fingers crossed no officials get hurt or sick before the trip.

American Eagle is my go-to for teen boy jeans. They also have a line called 247 that are the softest joggers and tees. My 13 yr old loves them. I always wait for sales because they run them often and if your boys are like mine, they are growing like weeds!
