What’s Up Wednesday

I’m joining MelShay, and Sheaffer for their What’s Up Wednesday link-up!

What we’re eating this week:
Monday:  Chicken Chili Tacos in the slow cooker were on the menu.  We have a busy week with lots of sports so these were a mama’s dream.  🙂

Tuesday:  Sheet Tray Supper…(Mama had Girl’s Night Out) and this was so easy to make on my way out the door for the rest of the family.

Wednesday:  Another early baseball game means dinner OUT.

Thursday:  Clean out the refrigerator kind of night…that means pretty much anything.

Friday:  We’ll be dining in NEW ORLEANS!!

What I’m Reminiscing About:
All the Texas kiddos with pictures in the blue bonnets takes me back to this year…when baby Bowen posed in the blue bonnets (and totally hammed up the photo shoot).

What I’m Loving:
All the baseball is still happening!  And I’m still loving it.

What We’ve Been Up To:
Clearly they were WAY too close to the t.v. but my kids are into watching GoNoodle on YouTube.  Have you heard of it?  I think they do it during school for “Brain Breaks” and then they asked to watch at home.  I feel much better about them watching something on television because they’re MOVING the entire time.

What I’m Dreading:
Nothing at the moment…I’m SO HAPPY to report I FINALLY CLEANED OUT MY CLOSET.  I got rid of a ridiculous amount of clothes I wasn’t wearing anymore and there’s so much room.

What I’m Working On:
We’re working on putting the finishing touches on Ebby Lee’s room.

What I’m Excited About:
Heading out of town on Friday with this guy and experiencing New Orleans!

What I’m watching/reading:
I’m reading this one right now…only a couple chapters in and I’m really liking it.  Total chick-lit.  🙂

I feel like I’m going to make some people angry, but I have to tell you…Tab and I started watching The Office on Netflix and I just can’t.  The boss, Michael(-I think?), really frustrates me.  He’s so mean, inappropriate, and rude.  I think we were watching Season One, Episode Three, and I told Tab how I was ready for something to happen-but he was like-“No, I think this is the whole show?”.  You guys!  I think I’m going to have to hang up my “The Office” watching boots…I just don’t get the hype for this show?!  Has anyone else felt this way?  (I’d already written this blog post and I brought this up with some baseball moms and I wasn’t the only one not a fan of the show.)

What I’m Listening To:
Yes, yes…still on repeat. #still

What I’m Wearing:
It’s hard to see but I’m wearing white jeans.  If you’re viewing this picture, that needs to be noted.  haha!  I got this peplum top (I’m digging all the peplum right now) a while back (but it’s sold out-this one is similar) and am a big fan.  Paired it with these white jeans and leopard sandals.

Last week, I shared some wedding guest dress options for the weekend and you guys voted for your favorite.  I’ll be wearing the winner soon!

Earlier this month, I shared some great dress options for Easter, graduations, weddings, etc.  If you need a new dress, check out this post.

What I’m Doing This Weekend:
NEW ORLEANS BOUND!

What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month:
*Warmer Days

*End of the School Year-my kids actually go until beginning of June but the end of year hype starts in May.

*Memorial Day

*Mother’s Day

Hope you ladies have a great Wednesday!  XOXO

I completely agree with the Office. I made it through episode 3 as well and couldn't handle Michael anymore. I had to stop 👎🏼

I could not agree more about The Office! I made it through two or three episodes and had to stop! Gossip Girl and OTH were right up my alley though! 🙂

When I taught 2nd and 4th grade- Go Noodle was a life saver for brain breaks! Don't forget that if you have your own faves- it allows you to add them to your account. My 4th graders and I loved to dance to Beyonce's "Move Your Body" video she did with some kiddos for her campaign w/Michelle Obama- HIGH ENERGY! I didn't like The Office and with such a following- didn't want to comment about it either! Ha! I am on my way to Call the Midwife and am currently watching 13 Reasons Why, as I just read it. I teach 7th now and need to understand the hype about all of that as well. 😉 My husband and I are always looking for "cerebral humor/wit" – 😉

Have you watched Parks and Rec? It is similar to the Office but has a lot more heart, in my opinion. I will say that Michael becomes more likable as The Office goes on. Happy Wednesday!

No way! The Office is the best/funniest/sweetest show that's ever been on TV/Netflix/whatever you like to watch! Keep going. I love all of the same TV shows you've loved (Gilmore Girls, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill) and I love The Office! Michael's rude/inappropriate mannerisms are intentional, ironic, and sarcastic. It's dry humor, not slapstick. Jim and Pam are so realistic, too!

Wait it out until Season 6, Episode 4. If you don't like it by then, then move along :-). It gets a lot gentler as it goes, and you start to understand why Michael is the way he is.

Yes. Yes. Yes. On this! I hated The Office at first, I just couldn't work Michael Scott but ohmygoodness! Just keep watching. He is the most complex character ever and I ADORE him! I just rewatched the series again and laughed and cried… the last episode is AMAAAAAZING! Truly, I'm a sensitive soul and I struggled too but when you get past the awkward and power through you will loooooooooooove this show!

You should start The Office on Season 2. I'd call it my all time favorite show, but the first season is THE WORST. I started watching when season 2 was live and it was years before I saw season one and I would not have kept watching it if I had seen season one live.

I agree on The Office. Was not a show that I liked watching!
Right now I am hooked on Party of Five. They put it on Netflix and I can't get enough of it.

You need to stick with the Office! Don't judge it by its first season. I promise, you will end up watching some of the funniest episodes of TV if you give it another shot and get to the later seasons. Michael's humor will grow on you, because you will realize that the humor is in exactly what you said…how inappropriate he is, coupled with the dry humor of Jim.

Don't give up on The Office!! The first season is not the best, but it really is so fuuuuuuny!! Michael is just socially awkward I think and he is hilarious. keep going, it really is funny! However, it might not be everyone's jam, and that is okay too! I agree, Parks and Rec is SUPER funny too. I heart Leslie Knope.

I was never a huge Office fan, but my husband was, so I persevered. It really does get better after season 1. I HATED Michael Scott in all of season 1, and he got much funnier after that season. You should really watch Parks and Rec though. It's so so so much better. I love all the people on that show! Its one show that my husband and I can watch over and over and over.

Ick on the Office. Like I said at the ballpark, it wasn't my thing either. But you should try Parks and Rec. Kind of the same type of thing except Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) is hilarious and so are all of the other cast members. I've binge watched the whole series a couple of times! It's right up there with my Friends and Cougar Town love if that tells you anything. 😉

For the record, I'm also not a big Ben Stiller fan and people can't believe it when I say that. He's just so awkward and uncomfortable to watch in all of his movies!! He's always in some ridiculous predicament and I just can't. haha

I am laughing so hard from the comment about waiting it out until season 6, episode 4. If I have to watch a show for 6 seasons before I like it, something is wrong. I'd say that would be a no-go for me!

I'm super late commenting but I'm going to agree with everyone that says to stick with the Office! You start to understand and love Michael more and more as it goes on. No way can you make a judgement about a show that ran for 9 seasons when you've only seen three episodes! The Jim/Pam romance is one of the absolute best on tv ever. Seriously! Hope you gave it another shot 😉
