Valentine’s Day Hop and a Giveaway

I’m teaming up again with some of my very favorite bloggers to bring you some fabulous Valentine’s Day ideas.  From gifts to what to wear to printables, we’ve got you covered!

I’m sharing a family favorite dessert that just screams, “VALENTINE’S DAY!!!”.

This what you’ll need…(minus one of those bags of strawberries).  ðŸ™‚

When we got married, my mom asked family and close friends to share favorite recipes.  So glad Aunt Rene’ shared this goodie years ago!

I had a sweet helper demonstrating so I could take pictures.  First we crushed up two cups of pretzels.

We mixed up the butter, crushed pretzels, and sugar. Thumbs up for that goodness.

Spread that into a 9X13 and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

We mixed up the cream cheese (softened), cool whip, and sugar.  Then we spread the mixture on top of the pretzels.

We added the remaining ingredients and poured it on top of the cream cheese layer.

We covered it and let it chill in the refrigerator for about five hours before serving.

We had friends over for burgers on Saturday night.  I forgot to take a picture of us enjoying the dessert, but this is what the pan looked like afterward…
It was delicious!!

Strawberry Pretzel Dessert:

1 1/2 to 2 cups crushed pretzels
1 1/2 sticks soft margarine
3 T. sugar
1-8 ounce package cream cheese
1-8 ounce Cool Whip
1 cup sugar
Large strawberry Jell-o
2 cups boiling water
1 1/2 cups cold water
20 ounces frozen sliced strawberries

Preheat oven to 350.  Mix the pretzels, margarine, and 3 T. of sugar, press into a 9X13 and bake for ten minutes.

Mix the second layer-the cream cheese, Cool Whip, and 1 cup sugar.  Add it to the pretzel mixture.

Third layer-mix jell-o, boiling water, cold water, and the strawberries.  Stir really well.  Then pour on top and chill for several hours before serving.

Hope you guys enjoy it!!  And…I have a fun little giveaway for today!  An early little valentine treat from you to me.  ðŸ™‚
