The Sisterhood of the Traveling Minnie Costume

You guys!  I’m totally getting my money out of that Minnie costume!  We’ve had some FUN FALL days over the last week and I thought I’d catch you up.  🙂

We celebrated Miss Madeley’s birthday with a Spooktacular Morning of coffee and donuts.  Shay’s house was looking so cozy, it was raining outside, and she’s lucky I didn’t stay all day!

Six girls are so calm compared to a party with six boys.  hahaha!

They were all super sweet and we had the best little morning!

For those of you who think I have it all together, this is proof I do NOT!  At Madeley’s party, Shay mentioned going to school at 2:15.  {Our kids are at the same school.}  When I asked her why, she reminded me of Community Helper Day in kindergarten!  I’d completely forgotten…so much so that Banker Bowen went to school looking like a five-year-old who dressed himself.  Go figure!  His teacher came through with a paper tie so he totally pulled off the “banker” look.  😉  Britt and I had so much fun getting to see this little activity.  {And thanks to Shay for the reminder!}

Sunday evening was our Bible Fellowship Group’s Harvest Party.  This party began in a couple’s backyard years ago and boy, oh boy, our class has grown, we’ve multiplied with ALL THE KIDS, and it’s become one of our favorite fall traditions!

Kensington and Ebby Lee planned their costumes way back in the summer.  They are Liv and Maddie from the Disney Channel Show, twin girls…one who’s an actress and the other is a basketball star.  The wigs are my favorite part of the entire costume!

Bowen has a real costume for Halloween night, but it’s one of those costumes that isn’t great for running around in the grass, playing football, and jumping in a bounce house…so he threw on some old baseball clothes and went as a baseball player.  Here he is with his friend, Clayton.

Minnie Mouse had the best time.  Until that one moment when she saw a sweet friend with a legit unicorn head.  Then she lost her mind.  #notafanoflegitunicorns

Mrs. Andrea plans this party every year and she did a great job!  She had two bounce houses this year-one for the littles and one for the bigs.  Britt and Libby loved the littles’ bounce house!

All the kiddos!

A closer look at my crew.  🙂

On Monday evening, Britt and I made our way over to Libby’s Ariel Birthday Party.  {Notice, it’s day three of the Minnie costume.  :)}

Ariel painted a rainbow on her hand, and we could have called it a night right then and there.  She was a HUGE fan of that little rainbow.

She admired it all night!

She listened to the story with Willow.

Then Ariel led them in a little song and dance.

They were precious in their little costumes.

 And a quick picture with Ariel before the night was over.

So much fun with all our friends!

I’m telling you…that little costume has been well worth the money this week!  And we’ve got a few more nights to wear it coming up soon!

XO

    I must say ,it absolutely warms my heart when I see all of the children together. I follow you,Shay,Andrea,Narci,Sheaffer and a few of the other ladies,and to see how you've not only opened your hearts to special children through adoption, but how you are teaching your children compassion and acceptance is amazing. I am also a mom of 4, and one of my boys has autism and is non verbal…not everyone is accepting or kind. Your entire group of friends is setting such a wonderful example for all of the children…they are learning how to be kind,caring people and understand that we are all different,and I applaud you all for that. You are giving the children who have been adopted a wonderful life while teaching the other children the true meaning of love while giving them all a sense of community.. Keep up the good work ladies!

    I’m not sure who he’s holding, maybe Willow, but I think it’s so sweet that Nixon is loving on one of your friend’s little girls in the big group photo.

    Nix came from a football game so he didn’t dress in costume.
