HAPPY THANKSGIVING, FRIENDS!
I read a quote recently about how much moms just treasure the time we have with all our people together. The older my kids get the more my heart is so happy with a night at home with all my people. Forget some of the things I used to treasure and give me the six of us around our dinner table. Needless to say this has been a great week. We spent the beginning part of the week at home with football, movies on the couch, neighbors, and family. YES, YES, YES!
We boarded a flight yesterday morning headed to Detroit for Thanksgiving Day football!
Let me stop here for a second and say 7/8 of us boarded a flight…we were sans Nixon {but plus Tab’s parents}. Nixon’s high school team is still in the football playoffs! WAHOO! Nixon {along with some other freshmen and sophomores} was asked to practice with varsity in the post-season so he’s gotten to experience EXTRA weeks of high school football which means he’s LOVING his life right now. He stayed with some family friends for football practice, is getting to have a great Thanksgiving with that family {THANK YOU!!}, and we’ll be back {hopefully} around half time of the game on Friday. Let’s go Leopards!
We got the football schedule about six-ish weeks ago and decided when we saw “Detroit” on the line-up for Tab on Thanksgiving Day we were all going to visit. Do you remember he had this game a few years ago and the kids and I stayed home which made it the WEIRDEST Thanksgiving EVER?! We were eating leftover pizza after watching the Macy’s parade. SO WEIRD! I vowed then and there to NEVER do that again which explains why the entire crew is in Detroit. 🙂
