Show and Tell Tuesday-It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Hey Everyone!

It’s Tuesday and I’m linking up with my girlfriend, Andrea, to share our home all decorated for Christmas.  But first, I want us to recap the past Show and Tell Tuesdays of 2017!

We kicked off the year with My Steals and Splurges.  In February I showed you My Loves.  March came and we shared some Most Embarrassing Moments and our Top Five Pictures.  In April, we chatted about Prom Pictures and we also covered Grown-Up Parties.  We shared What’s In Our Bags in September.

And today, it’s one of my favorite posts of the year…when we share our homes and get to peek into all of yours.  For two reasons, 1. Because I love seeing all the comfy, cozy homes decorated for Christmas and 2. I’m nosy.  🙂

Welcome to our home…
The front doors…last year I got our wreaths from HomeGoods and LOVED them.  This year the  HomeGoods in our area didn’t have two wreaths the same!  These two from Target did the trick.  🙂

I can never figure out the lighting during these pictures.  Our house gets a lot of direct light which is not good for photos, but the clean house during the day trumped the light.  haha!  Moms, you understand.  Right?

Give me all the Christmas pillows!  Tab caught me sneaking two new Christmas pillows in the house the other day and he jokingly told me I was gonna have to purge two others.  He doesn’t understand the importance of a Christmas pillow.  #clearly

I didn’t love the stockings we had.  I’d never even taken the time to get them all monogrammed so I ordered us all new stockings this year and love the mixed patterns.

These little Christmas advent activity calendars we picked up weeks ago at the Dollar Spot in Target.  I think they were $3 each, but we have them setting out on the bar and when I’m making dinner they stay busy working on these.

Hope you guys enjoyed the tour!

Happy Tuesday, Friends!

I love your Christmas decor! We are rebuilding our home after Hurricane Harvey, and we put in a similar stone fireplace. Yours is gorgeous. I'm curious where you found your leather ottoman/coffee table. I'm looking for one. The only one I've seen that I like so far is from Pottery Barn. Thanks for the info!

Hi Tanya! Thank you! First of all, I'm so sorry you're in the middle of that process right now. We found our ottoman/coffee table at Nebraska Furniture Mart. 🙂

Hi Erica! I added the link in there for my stockings, but they're all from Pottery Barn. I just mix and matched some patterns (Shay is rubbing off on me-ha). 🙂

We ordered the topiaries from Trees and Trends. I messed up and ordered them too short the first time. The measurements are from the bottom of the pot to the top of the plant. Keep that in mind. 🙂

Hi Erika! I have a question about how you hung the wreaths on your front doors? We have similar doors and can not figure out the best way to hang wreaths. Thanks!

We used wire and just wrapped them around those frames in the door. That can get tricky. My fall wreaths were a bit heavy and they would not stay well. I totally get it!

How did you hang the wreaths on your doors? Ours are similar and we can't figure out the best way to do it.

SO strange question. Going down the hall from your front door, what's on the left past the sitting room, and before the den? Anything?

Thank you! The garland is from Holiday Warehouse…it's a big Christmas store in Plano (if you're local).

You said that the Holiday wreaths last year were from Home Goods, but this year yours are from Target. Do you not save them year to year and just get new ones each year? What did you do with the ones from last year? (Just curious as it's my first year in a house that I want a wreath.)

    • 12.5.17
      Erika Slaughter said:

Yes, I'll save these! But last year they were made from dried floral pieces so I didn't save those. Maybe you could have but they didn't hold up outside as well as these completely fake wreaths will.
