Happy Tuesday!
Only 5 Days Until Christmas! (Insert shocked face here)
I’m joining Andrea today for her Show and Tell Tuesday to share Christmas Traditions.
Every year our family packs up (everything but the kitchen sink) and drives to Missouri to spend Christmas with family. We decided this year we want to start making some of our own family traditions. So we’re spending our first Christmas in Texas. Our children have never woken up in their own house and had Santa visit. We’ve never gone to our own church’s Christmas Eve service. And it’s important for us to do that, so this year just happens to be a year we’re starting lots of new traditions with our family of five.
As much as these are items on the list, we try to do every year sometimes life gets in the way. And sometimes you have to change up your traditions a bit to make things fit for your family.
On Christmas Eve, we always leave COOKIES AND MILK FOR SANTA.
We send and love to receive CHRISTMAS CARDS!
We look forward to attending SCHOOL PARTIES!
Every year my Missouri family gets together during our visit to play some fun REINDEER GAMES. I shared some favorites we played last year. You guys should check that post out for some great game ideas. This year we played over Thanksgiving since we wouldn’t be visiting at Christmas.
We love getting to watch Miss Ebby Lee dance in the CHRISTMAS RECITAL!

We always manage to sneak in some FUN WITH FRIENDS! We usually change it up every year…from the Polar Express to a light display.
We always decorate a GINGERBREAD HOUSE! This year one of our awesome babysitters brought gingerbread houses one night for the kids to decorate while we were out. Best idea ever!
We set the timer on my cell phone for this one. ha! We like to get dressed in our Christmas pajamas and drive around to look at CHRISTMAS LIGHTS.
Our ELF ON THE SHELF, Sparky, shows up every year. Some of your elves are crazy…sorry to report that ours is pretty chill.
We do a CHRISTMAS DEVOTIONAL every year as a family. (I’d love any suggestions if you have them.) This is the devotional we’re doing this year.
I hope you have some special Christmas traditions planned this week and I’m hope you’re soaking up every moment. XO
That devotional is one of our favorites too. And I love the Santa pictures except…Bowen looks so old this year! Insert my ugly cry here!!! He went from baby to big kid overnight!
Oh man! That babysitter who brought the gingerbread house? Brilliant! Plus, I don't know about you, but putting together said gingerbread house makes me want to claw my eyes out, haha. Outsourcing it is smart! Merry Christmas week, girl!
Why do I love a crying Santa picture so much?!?!?!
Excited for you to make new traditions this week at home!!! Love those Santa pics!! So sweet!
There is something so special about seeing your kids in your own home on Christmas morning. I'm glad you are mixing up your tradition this year. Merry Christmas!
