Hey There! It’s another Let’s Look! Once a month, Shay and I team up to give you a little peek at something in our lives. From organization to what we eat in a week, we’ve covered a wide array of topics this year, and today we’re talking HOMETOWNS!
If you’re new here I’m from a teeny, tiny small town in southeast Missouri called Zalma, located about two and a half hours straight south of St. Louis. I pulled it up on my maps so you could get a visual.
Tab grew up in Arkansas just west of Memphis so we were about two and a half hours apart as well. That’s for those of you interested in the geography side of this blog post. 🙂
In this blog post I shared a few years ago I share some great pictures of my hometown. I’d love for you to take a peek.
According to Google, the latest census showed the population of Zalma as being 122. Most people live in the country so they aren’t counted in the town numbers. The Class of 2001 I was a part of graduated 12 seniors that year.
Zalma doesn’t have much in the way of big flashy attractions to get out of town guests to visit, but what Zalma does have is great people with big hearts. People who love you like family, people who rally together anytime someone is down, and people who really teach you what living in a community is all about. I wish there were ways I could share that in pictures for this post.
Now I’m living almost six hundred miles away in a city with a population of over 190,000 people, but I learned so much from that small town full of people with such big hearts.
Next month we’re talking SUMMER LUNCHES! You can only imagine how creative mine will have to be when making lunches in the garage. haha! Hope you join us!
