It’s HUMP Day! ALREADY! First of all, THANK YOU for all your excitement about my new Tuesday posts! You guys are absolutely THE BEST! It’s gonna be fun! I even had a friend I didn’t know read my blog mention it to me in person and she talked about how excited she was. Basically, you guys made my day! So THANK YOU!
We’re inching up to month six of this renovation so I felt like it was time to share the latest updates with you. These pictures are absolutely terrible. Some rooms don’t have actual lights inside right now, some rooms have the windows boarded up at the moment and basically that leads to terrible pics. I think you’ll get the idea though. 🙂

This space has gotten the most attention over the last week. Our walls in our living room/kitchen were extremely textured, but when we moved in seven years ago it seemed like too big of a project to really undertake. Well, when everything is ripped out of these rooms it’s now the perfect time. The guys came in and are retexturing the walls which looks amazing but has taken a while. They redid all the ceiling in this room as well.

This is a look from the living room to the kitchen. Can you tell how open this space is going to feel now? We absolutely love our house but we’ve never realized how many funky shapes/corners it has. We’re doing our best to make each funky spot as useful as possible.

The rest of the cabinets are supposed to be arriving later this week. EEEKKK!!!

An up close look at those new walls. 🙂

I just scribbled out the house plans. That seemed a little too much to be sharing. But let me introduce you to the weird space under our stairs. We got rid of the back stairs {that met up with the front stairs mid-way} to create a larger laundry room. This used to be the pantry and an underneath the stairs closet. The plan is to get front loaders but we’re attempting to make that weird space the most useful by putting our washer/dryer there. Then we have cabinets on each side that will house laundry baskets/storage/etc.

Part of the cabinets are in and more are coming soon!

Our bedroom has new hardwoods and is just waiting for the “paint stage”.

When we added on to our living room we also got this extra little space in our bedroom. To utilize it the best we could we’re making this a little office closet with doors. A little office space for me was high on our must-have list when we even began talking to contractors. I always said it didn’t have to be big, but just a spot where I could keep all my things would be amazing. {Right now if Tab works from home, then I float my stuff upstairs or out back if the weather’s nice or basically where ever. But if he goes to the office or is traveling, then I can have the office. My stuff is constantly being moved.}. Needless to say, I’m super pumped about this little space. Imagine a built-in desk with some cute shelves and we’re even adding a little sconce to make the lighting just right. 🙂

I wanted you to see the current state of my bathroom floor. YIKES! This room is beginning to get some love. Instead of adding a step into our shower, they dug down so that our shower will be level with the floor. We’re not making this space any different dimension-wise so we’re getting as creative as possible with how we’re adding our tub/shower to create a larger feel.

And my closet is a clean slate! This is on my to-do list to map out exactly what we want.
Other to-do’s this week…get a kitchen table ordered. We have a certain dimension that’s going to work best and most tables seem to have a bit of a wait time. The front runner now is 12-15 weeks, which makes me want to cry a bit, but that might just mean we eat around the kitchen island for the next 15 weeks. {Which will be totally okay}. And then also order some kitchen chairs. Do you have a favorite spot where you’ve gotten kitchen table/chairs before? If so, please share!
What the crew is working on…finishing texture in the living room/kitchen, the rest of the cabinets are arriving in kitchen/laundry, laundry room floor tile is going in, and master bathroom floor is starting as well.
If it wasn’t for the hoarding that takes place in the front of our house that really isn’t having any work done, then I’d say we can do this for another six months. BUT…that’s starting to drive Tab and I crazy. The food is hard too, but once cabinets are in the countertops will be next. Just having a space to eat/cook will REALLY make this easier!
Okay, I’m off to check off all the to-do list things today! Have a great Wednesday! See you tomorrow!
XO
Love the progress pictures! Can’t wait to see the finished product and I’m sure you can’t wait for it to be do either!

Haha! YES! We’re so ready!
Eeeeeeeeeeks! It’s looking SO GOOD!!!!! I’m so excited for the big reveal at the end!
You are such a trooper! That is a whole lot of craziness for the beginning of the school year. When do think it will all be done? Good luck!
Oh Karen! I’m not sure Tab would call me a trooper most of the time! haha! Hopefully, it’s finished by Thanksgiving.
You are a rock star!!! before kids we remodeled our 1912 house…took about 2.5-3years to get it where we wanted… of course there are things I would change now but the thought of doing that with 2 kids (who are almost 13 bahahaha) I’m like eeeekkss and you are doing it with 4 kids and sports schedule.. school..other activites and full time jobs!!! I am impressed.. Y’all rock!!!!!! Can’t wait to see it finished.. I know it will be fabulous!!
Girl-YOU’RE a ROCKSTAR!! Our issue was we kept saying we were going to do this and it finally hit us both that Ebby Lee has five more years of being at home with us. Why are we waiting to do all this when she’ll barely get to enjoy it? That had us both deciding it was time! It’s finally starting to come together with details I can see. hahaha! For the longest time moving beams or adding beams to things just wasn’t the visual progress I was hoping for. haha!
Looks great! Have you shared the upstairs progress? We found great kitchen tables on Wayfair. Not fun to put them together but the ship times weren’t bad.
Thank you!! I haven’t shared pics yet because we’re living up there and stuff is everywhere! ha! We’re using it as storage too!
So happy to hear about the progress on your renovation! Side note: I haven’t been receiving blog emails for months now. Did something change?
Yes, when we did some updating that e-mail disappeared but we’re in the process of getting it added back! I’m so sorry! Please come visit Tuesday-Friday.
