Homecoming 2025

Happy TUESDAY!

Hey Friends! I’m coming at you a day late because of the title of this post, Homecoming. haha! We had ALL THE THINGS last week plus a surgery which led to one of the most fun, chaotic, stressful, over-the-top weeks we’ve experienced so far in our parents-of-two-high-schoolers-era. Also, I decided to gift Ebby Lee and a friend concert tickets on Sunday evening that I accompanied them to. Let’s talk about LATE NIGHTS! LOTS OF FUN! But when I tell you how late I slept on Monday morning, you won’t even believe me. 😉

Please prepare yourself for the longest Homecoming post ever. I’m treating this like a tiny scrapbook of pics I’d show you if popped over to my house for coffee and to check in on our family. I’d share it all so here with are with THE longest post ever…

Nixon’s Homecoming proposal was ALL him! Last year I found myself making his sign for him hours before we were supposed to show up at his date’s house. This year he tackled it all and I thought he did a great job!

Hoco Proposal…check!

Ebby Lee’s date brought over the cutest bouquet and some frozen yogurt from a local shop, 16 Handles. So sweet!

Monday evening BOTH schools were having parades at the same time! We joined Ebby Lee and her school for their community festival before the parade.

Right after the parade, the cheerleaders hosted a black light pep rally in the gym.

This little drum line set is everyone’s favorite thing!

Such a COOL NIGHT!

Meanwhile, Nixon was with his team at their first ever Homecoming parade!

A sweet friend who was there sent me a few pics. 🙂

Two kids at two schools with two Homecomings on the same week also meant two dress up weeks. Ebby Lee got into this WAY more than Nixon.

The Texas tradition of mums and garters happened as well. Nixon and his date exchanged theirs one evening with friends.

They got to join lots of friends which made it even more fun!

Ebby Lee’s Homecoming football was on Thursday night which meant another exciting pep rally Thursday during the day before the big game. I got to attend and found these two for a quick pic!

After this pic, I went home and immediately appled sunless tanner. ha!

This gym was full of great energy!!

So many great memories were made!

The best thing about this week might have been that games were on different nights so we were able to watch both football games and see both kids participate!

Thursday Night Lights are just as magical.

Then Friday, we were at Lovejoy High School for the big Homecoming game for Nixon.

Because of this girl’s schedule, she hasn’t been to one of Nixon’s games yet. It made it extra fun to sit beside her in the stands.

The crew minus Britt, who stayed at home with a sitter.

A few of the McKinney kids came to watch the game.

They very rarely take a pic just the two of them so we had to document the moment!

Saturday was the BIG DAY! Ebby Lee spent her day with friends brunchin’ and getting ready together. Then she met her date and friends for a few pictures before the big group connected for even more pictures.

Tab and I popped over to see this group before they left.

Proof of parent life! Ebby Lee didn’t send me a group pic so I only have a couple of her. 🙁

We had a few minutes in between and then it was time to meet Nixon’s group for pics.

Nixon and his group met at the country club in McKinney for pics and then enjoyed dinner before heading to their dance.

The crew…

All the guys…

Whew!

WHAT A WEEK! But it was SO MUCH FUN!

Let me also add we needed this Fall Break week like never before! haha!

Thanks for reading, friends!

XO
