Happy FRIDAY!
I must tell you…I absolutely LOVE summer. Last night all of my people rolled in at different times and around 10:30 p.m. I found myself in the living room, amidst all the kids + Tab, discussing our week. I looked around and the perimenopausal side of me could have teared up but that would have ruined the whole vibe so I held it in. 😉 Moments like this make all the chaos of camps, carpools, and late nights totally worth it.
I hope you’re enjoying your summer as well! I’m here today with Andrea to share some of my FAVORITES this Friday.
We kicked off summer in the Slaughter House and the six of us went about eight different directions. I’m not even sure how that’s possible but it’s what the first two weeks of summer have felt like around here…
Nixon and Tab went to Houston on Thursday for a baseball tournament for Nixon so they were out of town while…

Lovejoy was still in the baseball playoffs. I took Bowen and a few of his friends to dinner and the game. They got to play in Dr. Pepper Ballpark which is where the Frisco Rough Riders play. It’s a cute stadium right in the heart of Frisco. As I was sitting there watching the game, that hotel on the right {you can barely see} is where Ebby Lee had been and was for a few more days of cheer camp.

Britt kicked off her summer with her own cheer camp, Cross Cheer Camp. If you’re local to DFW and have a daughter check this camp out. It’s a christian company that travels to different churches throughout the metroplex each week sharing Jesus through cheer. Super cute! Britt’s done it several years and always has a great time.

M and I went to her performance on Friday! All the girls were so cute!

On Saturday it was time to pick up Ebby Lee from her cheer camp. We got there in time to see all the performances.

And see Ebby Lee get awarded All-American! Last year was a tough year for her cheer-wise. So let this be a reminder to us all {including myself} that often times when our kids are faced with adversity it ends up being a really great thing. She worked crazy hard this fall/winter….private tumbling, jump classes, open gyms, workouts at home, etc. To see all of that hard work pay off was extra sweet.

After getting Ebby Lee home from cheer camp and settled, I caught a quick flight to Houston to meet up with the boys. Nixon’s team was having a little get together at a friend’s AirBNB. I arrived just in time to see everyone. Tab had an early flight Sunday to New York for NFL stuff so I took over with Nixon. He had a game on Sunday morning and then we drove Tab’s truck back to Dallas.

Road tripping with Nixon might be my favorite because we like the same music. Country is his jam too so it was a delightful ride. We drove straight to where Bowen was playing baseball {shout out to our baseball family who helped Bowen get to his tournament Saturday/Sunday}.
After over an hour lightning delay, the tournament finally was cancelled and we got to our house around 8:00. I was so happy to be home!

This week was McKinney Boyd softball camp for this girl! She was awarded Camper of the Day and given this visor that’s super cute {but I’ll steal because it’s way too big for her}.

The coaches who put on this camp are so great with the girls! It’s one of Britt’s favorites every year!

Meanwhile, both boys had football camp this week BUT at different times. hahahaha!

Thank goodness for carpools! Several of Bowen’s baseball friends attended as well so it was a super fun week for him!

In the middle of a busy day of carpooling, I got this text…Tab and several crew mates made it to the Yankees game while in New York this week.

See what I mean about summer being my FAVORITE? Kind of crazy with schedules but still a FAVORITE! We were kind of going in six different directions there for a while so last night when we were all catching up on our week together way past my bedtime it really was extra sweet.
Tab and I head out on a work vacation Sunday. I’ll try to update with some fun pics as much as possible. {You can find me here on IG.}
Because of that, I’m taking a full week off of blogging next week. I’ll return on June 16th! Hope you guys have the best week. See you back here then!
