Friday Favorites-4.7.23

Hey There, Friends! It’s Good Friday! Which means, this is the day we observe Jesus’ death and crucifixion the cross. But…Sunday’s Coming! And that’s what makes Easter so special. We then get to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. He’s alive, friends!

Okay, I’ll get down to business here on the blog. Andrea and I are sharing our Friday Favorites from the week. My week has a little bit of everything for you…

First up, Bowen Slaughter received an award at school and because of the time both of the big kids were there to surprise him as well. I don’t know WHAT is wrong with me but seeing my kids get an award always makes me cry. I cried as the principal spoke about Bowen and listed all these great qualities he has and then when he walked into the room we were waiting he was mortified. Hahahaha! I couldn’t help it! He kept telling me to get it together because other people could tell I was crying. #sorrybowen. I got to snap a picture of the big three with one of their FAVORITE teachers. Both big kids had Mrs. Guerrero in fourth grade and they both absolutely LOVED her. Now Bowen and Britt get to experience her as the librarian and they love her as well. My goodness-there’s just something SPECIAL about those teachers that leave an imprint on the hearts of your kids. We have had several of those throughout the years at our school. And I’m so thankful!

As we were walking out, Nixon spotted one of his FAVORITE kindergarteners celebrating a birthday. I think Nixon is his FAVORITE middle schooler so the feeling is definitely mutual. Everett’s brother is on Bowen’s football team so throughout the year Nix and Everett are watching together on the sidelines and they’ve been friends for years.

Speaking of football, you guys know football in the fall is my FAVORITE but I love Friday Night Lights in the spring as well. So far we’ve had really nice weather which makes the game even more fun to watch.

This weekend Nixon’s team had a photographer come out to snap some of my new FAVORITE pictures…

His baseball team is one of Nixon’s absolute FAVORITE things!

And on Sunday the team busted out their new uniforms…looking so good!

Check out my FAVORITE kindergarten project from the week. I volunteer in Britt’s class once a week and just do whatever the teacher needs to help her out. This week I hung this, “Timelines of Me”. They were absolutely adorable. The class has been working on past, present, and future in social studies so she asked every child to send in four pictures…baby, toddler, preschooler, and kindergartener. Then the kids put them in order for a timeline all about them. Isn’t it cute?

The Besties are BACK with a new episode!! I’ve heard from many of you that this new podcast set up is your FAVORITE! YAYYY!!! It’s working better for us as well! If you have any topics you’d like us to discuss, please send them our way!

Thanks so much for reading today. Happy Easter Weekend!

The podcast today was the best so far! I was grocery shopping literally laughed out loud at least 5 or 6 times. People just stare at me like I’m crazy, but I don’t care. Thanks for making my day!

Those baseball photos are fabulous! I always get a bit choked up when my kids get awards too (thankfully no actual tears yet); and I think it’s hilarious that your son asked you to pull it together.
