WAHOOOOO!!!!!! Today at 4:00 p.m. all of my people will officially be on SPRING BREAK! This week turned into a crazy one for us because on Tuesday, Tab and I decided Nixon would in fact join his baseball team to play in a tournament in Arizona this weekend. For some other reasons, we’d thought he’d skip this trip but at the very last minute we decided he should go so Nixon and I boarded a flight yesterday afternoon to head to Phoenix for a long weekend. I have a few days of baseball ahead of me before we hit the slopes. And when I say that, please know I’m barely/slowly hitting those slopes. 🙂
EDITED TO ADD: Our flight got cancelled and we’re trying again today to make it to Phoenix!
I’m joining my girl, Andrea, for a big dose of FAVORITES around here!

First up, our elementary school dance with a “Boots and Bling” theme happened last Friday night. Aren’t they cute?

And Bowen with his crew of friends. Can’t believe these boys will be in MIDDLE SCHOOL next year!

Every year the fifth graders do a square dance they’ve learned in p.e. Bowen’s group was apparently committed to the group dress code {but he missed out on the hat memo}.

Fun with some FAVORITES on a Friday night!

On Saturday, Britt kicked off her softball season with her first game and some of her FAVORITE people came to watch!

I’ve been doing a lot of spring sports watching. As a mom who’s just watching, I often get bored and just wanna snack to give me something to do in the stands! I found these Turkey & Cheese Snack Packs with broccoli, carrots, turkey stick, cheese stick, and Ranch dressing at both Walmart and Tom Thumb. They’re a new FAVORITE! I feel better knowing I’m adding some good veggies into the mix.

What’s not a new FAVORITE? The bags I’ve had under my eyes this week! WHEW! However, I’m sharing this pic because a FAVORITE friend sent me this cute necklace plus I love a short sleeve sweatshirt this time of year! {Mine is old but this one is similar.}

Apparently, I’m a middle aged mom blogger who now shares amazing ways to fundraise for high school programs. hahahaha! This week Bowen and I were a part of our local high schools’ new baseball fundraiser and it was a FAVORITE!
The baseball team decided to have Bronco Buddies this year where they partner up an elementary school aged kid with a high school player. They get into certain home games free, got a shirt, get to build a connection with a high school player and had THE CUTEST event on Tuesday night.

When we arrived each player was holding the name of their Bronco Buddy so the boys walked up to introduce themselves, they all went down on the field to play pitch/catch, they announced their names, etc.

Bowen and his buddy, Hudson. We’ve known Hudson’s family for a long time so Bowen was extra pumped!

I really wasn’t sure what to expect but the night couldn’t have been better. Each “buddy” paid a fee and well, I think it was probably an amazing fundraiser for the team!

Unbeknownst to the person doing the matching, Bowen and Hudson have the same baseball number, play the same positions, and are both TALL for their ages. Pretty cool!

Bowen had THE BEST time! I’m all about a fundraiser that not only involves the actual kids doing the work but also gets some community involvement going on and this one was amazing! I do think there were some moms who went above and beyond to make this happen, but it’s such a good one!

This is a terrible pic, but as I was working through my Beth Moore Daniel study this morning I paused to think how amazing it was. Definitely a FAVORITE! Her weekly videos are long, about an hour, but they are so good and so worth it! I’ve always thought her Esther study was my favorite but Daniel is giving Esther a run for her money.

The #OOTD for a mom who’s just learned one day prior that she will need to leave town three days early and all of her and her kids must be packed for their Spring Break trip. I look a bit frazzled. BUT…one of Ebby Lee’s friends told me she liked me “fit” {which is teen slang for outfit} so I thought it was worth noting. Jacket {is an Amazon dupe I bought five years ago!}, tennis skirt, and similar shoes. The subtle hint of a tan is brought to you by my FAVORITE as of late sunless tanner {super inexpensive}.

Okay, friends-I’m officially signing off for my own “Spring Break” vacation! I’ll be back here on Monday, March 18th with a little ski recap. Hope to see you then! Have the best week!

What an incredible fundraiser idea!!! I bet the younger boys love it so much!! And I agree with EL’s friend, your fit was super cute! 🙂
Thank you!! XO
I absolutely love the baseball fundraiser. My son is a high school player right now and baseball is big in our community. Would you mind sharing the amount each kid paid or if there is a web page you can point me to, that would be awesome. I want to run this past our booster club. Thanks!!!
Hi Jen! Each kid {or parent} paid $100 to get a Baseball Buddy. The boys got a shirt and had this one big night where they hung with their “buddy” for an hour. They had photography students taking pics so they sent parents lots of pics. The boys get into 8 home games free plus can take one parent in free with them as well. Those might be all the big perks? I might be forgetting something but it’ll definitely get more people out to watch the baseball games as well. Which is win-win too!
Have a wonderful Spring Break! 🙂 Thank you so much for hosting each week! I love connecting with so many other bloggers! 🙂
Warmly, Rebecca
