Happy FRIDAY!
Last week we were discussing SNOW and today the high is 62 {which feels WAY more like Texas in January than snow}. We’ve been BUSY this week with lots of after school meetings for the upcoming spring season and even had a football banquet to round it out. I hope you’ve enjoyed your week. I’m here with Andrea to bring you my FRIDAY FAVORITES from the week. I try to keep it around FIVE because it’s catchy {FIVE FRIDAY FAVORITES}. :). Hope you enjoy the FIVE FAVES…
Ladies, if you read my post on Wednesday then you know one of my low level goals is taking down my Christmas decor. A little side part of that is the mirror I usually take pics in is put up because there’s a Christmas tree there right now. That’s why these pics are so terrible. I apologize. Hopefully it’s back out soon.
Let’s go back to the weather discussion…on certain days a long sleeve top with a vest is plenty of layers to stay warm while I’m in and out of the car. I bought this vest a year or two ago and still love it! I often pair this FAVORITE vest with leggings but on this day it was jeans. Nowadays there are tons of dupes out there so if you’d prefer a more “starter” vest to see how much you’ll really wear it, this is a great option.

You guys told me you’d like to hear more about what I’m making for dinner. I don’t have pics because trust me. You don’t wanna see that. I’m not a food photographer but we had these two slow cooker recipes and they were both FAVORITES!
Mississippi Roast- {You’ve probably seen this all over the internet}. Most recipes out there call for some type of roast but my helpful suggestion is to use lean stew meat. I browned the stew meat, seasoned with salt and pepper, and then added one packet of dry Ranch mix, one packet of au jus gravy mix, 1/4 cup of butter, and then {as much or as little} pepperoncini peppers as your family will enjoy including the liquid. Cook that on low for 8 hours and when you’re ready to eat the stew meat will be so tender you can cut it with your fork. I serve mine over mashed potatoes {I’m looking at you, Bob Evans}, rice, or mashed cauliflower. It’s a hearty warm meal that’s perfect for this time of year.
Italian Chicken-I remember the first time I had this. I was in high school visiting one of my friend’s cousins who lived in St. Louis {the big city for us} and I thought it was delicious! Good news…I’m still a fan. I added chicken breast, one cream of chicken soup, one-eight ounce pack of cream cheese {I often wait until an hour before serving to add this}, one dry Italian dressing mix, and bone broth {I do this for the added protein} to my slow cooker. Again, let it cook on low for eight hours and serve over rice or noodles. With this one, I usually double everything but the cream cheese and it works great for my family.

Have you guys ever read the Proverbs 31 Daily Devotions? Monday-Fridays there’s a new devotion and no matter the circumstance or the main topic I always get something out of these quick devotions. I love that since it’s online if I’m traveling it’s right at my finger tips and not something else I need to pack. It’s a FAVORITE I’ve been reading for years and just thought about me not ever sharing it before! You should check it out!

Another terrible pic but another FAVORITE find…{actually TWO!}. I found these leopard pants back in the fall but forgot to share with you. They’re high-waisted and kind of a hybrid between a straight leg and a wide leg jean. They’re outside of my comfort zone a bit but I’m a FAN! Since they’re a more “relaxed” fit I think they can still be dressed down easily or dressed up depending on shoes/tops. I paired mine with this top that I LOVE. It’s a great price and fits like a body suit but is just a shirt. I’m long waisted so body suits just fit me weird but this is perfection.

I bought these shoes in 2020 and wore them STILL yesterday with leggings, long sleeve top, and vest. They’re still a FAVORITE after almost five years and they’re such a good price! I did wear sneakers to the gym but when I came home I didn’t really have time to shower so I washed my face, added makeup and just freshened up a bit before changing into these shoes. Anything I’m still wearing five years later deserves a spot in this line-up. Don’t you think?
