Happy December 6th!
Can you believe we’re already this far into football season? I mean college football has wrapped except bowl games and the NFL is officially into week FOURTEEN?! Time flies when we’re having fun, I guess? And football totally applies to that saying. 🙂
Did you watch championship games this weekend?
*Whew! Our Big 12 loving hearts were INTO that TCU/K State game! WHAT A GAME! Two players stand out-Max Duggan, whoa! His heart, grit, and determination almost snagged the WIN for the Horned Frogs on Saturday. That kid is fun to watch! And Deuce Vaughn, another whoa! Deuce finds a way to make the play ALWAYS! He’s fast, scrappy and also really fun to watch! That was such a great game!
*Let me tell you-when I watch football I tend to watch it through mom lenses probably because I am a mom. :). But also because I’m usually watching with my kids. This next championship and story that hit the headlines left me wanting to cheer for anyone BUT USC. Caleb Williams, USC’s quarterback, who followed Lincoln Riley to USC started nail art several weeks ago to add a little flair to his look. Totally cool with that! But this past week check out this article to see what he was sporting for the Pac-12 Championship game against Utah. My boys and I both had several chats about it. It doesn’t matter if these college football players want to be role models or not, because of their position kids are looking up to them. And the way Williams handled that this past week was absolutely terrible. During one of the conversations I had with my boys, one of them started coming up with MANY other four-letter words that were tv appropriate that got across the same message…BEAT UTAH was an easy one. And let me tell you, it didn’t take us long to have a long list of words that would have worked there. My family cheered big for Williams last year at OU so I think it stung a little more. All that to say, Caleb Williams, you have lots of little eyes looking up to you…you can do better!
*And then I’ve gotta be honest-I was downstairs and only the upstairs tv is working so I kept getting the game recap from Bowen. Ever since I saw this video a year ago, I’ve been a Stetson Bennett fan. My kids are all like…we know he doesn’t waste his time. hahaha! Needless to say, I’m cheering for Georgia to meet up with TCU on January 9th!

Now onto a feel good NFL video…have you seen the sweet video from Thanksgiving with Stefon Diggs and Josh Allen each saying how thankful they are for each other?! Seriously, go watch it now! And then you can check out this post for your Bills gear you’ll need after watching. :). hahaha!
And apparently it’s all about Diggs today, because did you see how he MADE A KIDS DAY on Thanksgiving by taking him down on the field to play catch?!

Caleb Williams and Lincoln Riley have both disappointed me greatly. DO BETTER, GUYS! And listen, watching football as a mom is BRUTAL. Even when a grown man making millions messes up, my heart hurts for his mama! Haha!
Bahahahahaha! Totally understand! I do the same thing! I remember us both being so hurt for those boys by Lincoln Riley! WAAAAHHH!!! They’re both breaking my heart a little this week.

Yes-Celeste! I was a big Williams fan last year when he came in for Spencer Rattler and totally thought he earned the spot BUT I’m not a fan of his nail art with language like that and am waiting for the press conference where he apologizes to his fans. hahaha!
I am having such a hard time with the Heisman, of course I am a TN Vol fan, but Hendon Hooker’s stats were better than Stetson’s (even though I loathe Georgia, I want Stetson to win for all the walk-ons across the nation) and then having the player that put the F bomb weekly across his fingers to the opponents. Hendon who wrote a Christian Book of the ABC’s of athletes for kids (which he did with his NIL money).

No one was happier to see OU West lose than me! I would like to stand outside AT&T Stadium in January just to “Boo!” them.
