Ebby Lee is TEN

Oh, this girl of mine is TEN today!

Is it just me or does ten sound SO OLD?

Ten years ago today two very nervous soon-to-be rookie parents made our way to the hospital having no idea what to expect.  It feels like both just yesterday and a lifetime ago all at the same time.

Ebby Lee is sweet, fun, such a kind big sister, and always up for a laugh.  She keeps the boys in line, is working hard to teach Britt all of her colors, and absolutely loves school and her fourth grade teachers this year.

Watching this girl grow up is such a blessing.  She makes our days even more special!

We love you so very much!  Happy Happy 10th Birthday, Ebby Lee!

Ebby Lee Slaughter is one of my VERY favorite people! In the car on Sunday, Kensington said, "What if we didn't live in McKinney? I wouldn't know Ebby Lee, and she's the most important person in my life." Um, thanks, Kensington. Hahaha! We sure do love that girl!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday to your girl!! When I was 10 I wanted to be an architect too and now (at 29) I am one! It is a really neat career path… a lot of work but a lot of fun too. Now I am involved in my state’s Women in Architecture committee as part of our AIA Chapter, and one of our girls is to expose more young girls to the fields of architecture and design. If she has a strong interest in it (like I did as a kid!) I highly recommend helping her explore it! When I was a kid my parents got me a computer program called 3D home architect and I LOVED it. I designed houses for all my friends and family members on it. I also loved going to model homes and getting home floor plan magazines. Now I design medical schools, not houses, but I still feel like work is more like “play” than work!
