April Birthday Recaps

Hey! I thought it was about time to give you a little update on the recent birthday celebrations in the Slaughter House. We accidentally planned both Ebby Lee and Nixon’s parties on the same weekend so Tab celebrated with Nix while I partied with Ebby Lee.

To celebrate Ebby Lee, she invited three friends to spend the night in Dallas for the evening. Britty and I drove down during the day on Friday to decorate the hotel room with some balloons, we added some candy/junk food, and dropped off some matching pajamas. The girls had no idea so when we walked into the room they were so surprised. It was a sweet little addition to the evening.

We kicked off the evening with appointments at Dry Bar. This was the “Before”…

Dry Bar was extra sweet and put these four in their own little “VIP” room in the back.

And check out the “AFTER”…they were gorgeous before but even more pretty with that hair!

We got all changed at the hotel {our rooms connected}. This was my fancy dress for the evening. I bought this a while back for the rodeo {which our trip happened to get cancelled-boo} so I decided it’s actually super versatile. It’ll be cute with cowboys boots in the fall and wedges in the spring. I ordered my typical size.

We had reservations at XOXO Dining Room in Dallas. We’d heard great things and had seen the cute pictures of the inside of this restaurant. Think pink, girly, and picture perfect. 🙂

These girlies were so much fun!

See what I mean about the cute decor?

There were lots of cute little backdrops set up that were all perfect for picture taking.

We sang, “Happy Birthday”, to the birthday girl after a delicious dinner.

I forced them to snap a picture with me so we all had proof I was there too. :). By the way, I don’t know what I’m doing with my hand. #whoknows

And we took a couple more pictures on our way out the door. They ended the evening with a rooftop hotel swim, snacks, and chilling in bed. We got up the next morning, packed up, and grabbed Starbucks on our way back to McKinney. This might have been my favorite party to date. So easy and so much fun-those girls had me LAUGHING!

Meanwhile, Nixon was living his best birthday life in Nashville! We’ve kind of always watched the College World Series. I remember being at the beach on vacation and coming in to see certain games, but last year {probably because of the kids’ ages} our entire family REALLY got into the tournament. We had favorites. We planned our evenings around who was playing. We were ALL watching every night. Nixon’s favorites were Vanderbilt and Ole Miss. So much so that he asked for Vandy and Ole Miss clothes at Christmas! Anyway, we teamed up with friends and made a fun little birthday getaway happen!

These boys got to catch some baseball games and even a little football. {The Spring Game happened to be going on when they were there.}

The boys with the Vandy boys…

They got to see two great baseball games both that ended with Vandy victories! And it was a 12th birthday Nixon will never forget!

That wrapped up our April birthdays for 2022! And we made some amazing memories!

XO

Just curious how you handled the “dry bar”. Did you pay for all the girls or did they pay for their own? Such a fun celebration & cute restaurant!
