Amelia Island-Part 2

Happy Monday!

I’m diving right back into the second part of our Amelia Island vacation. If you missed part one, you can read all about in this post.

Thursday morning we had a fishing tour bright and early for the whole family…

The views made it all worth it!

We’d packed some quick breakfast, waters and coffees and were enjoying the most glorious morning.

Celebrating our TWENTIETH year of marriage later this month!

We were fishing for king fish in this particular area and got pretty lucky quickly.

Bowen wasn’t so lucky. He caught a…

SHARK! ha!

Britty and I preferred the gorgeous views over the work of reeling those fish in.

Britt’s fish {with the help of Nixon}. 🙂

Super fun morning out on the water.

According to our fishing guide, the full moon makes fishing harder {do you guys believe this?} so we didn’t catch many fish but the ones we caught were extra fun.

Bowen got his fish!

That pirate ship was super cool. We had lunch at this old gas station turned breakfast/lunch spot our guide told us about and IT WAS DELICIOUS!

Before we knew it, we were back on the beach with these views. There were several spots roped off for the sea turtle nests.

Another dressed up night, another family pic for Mom. 🙂

I’m at that weird stage of parenting this one where you start to panic about the time you have left all the while enjoying the days they’re growing up more and more. Such a delicate balance! So thankful for the young lady she’s becoming.

Lots of fun has been had in the last twenty years.

My favorite girls in the whole world.

Because everyone was still in a good mood at this point. haha!

This was the front entrance of our gorgeous resort. Our dinner reservations on this particular night were at Cucina South. It was a cute little Italian restaurant with THE most delicious chicken parmesan.

Friday morning Ebby Lee and I were up early for a little walk on the trail.

I’d made us pickleball reservations post-breakfast.

Our family learned Ebby Lee’s skills have gotten WAY better. She was smoking us ALL!

On Friday afternoons at our resort, a pirate would come lead all the kids on a treasure hunt. Can you spot us? {Hint-Britt and I were the two people who walked in straight from the beach.}

Very proud of herself for finding the treasure! We all got ready very quickly and had a casual dinner right on the beach at a local spot.

Saturday morning, the boys began their morning with some football.

I was reading Every Summer After and kept thinking this painting in our room matched perfectly.

Last full day of gorgeous views.

Followed by an afternoon of pool time.

Can you tell by my huge smile…my heart was so full.

One of our Slaughter Family Favorite restaurants is Bob’s Steak & Chop House. It’s our Christmas Eve tradition to eat at the Bob’s in Dallas after our Christmas Eve service. When I saw Amelia Island had a Bob’s, I knew we had to make reservations.

It was THE most perfect way to end our vacation. We flew out the next morning and are back to enjoying the last days of summer.

Thanks for reading today!

XO
